Each site has a lot of differences for CUSA. For North Texas, if we don't win CUSA how cool would it be to play Notre Dame on New Years Day?

I really can't see ECU playing in any other bowls besides the Liberty or Military, which is fine with me.

CBS has Rice playing Notre Dame in Dallas, which means we would end this season with the Fighting Irish in Texas, and open the 2014 season with a rematch in South Bend.

How real is Notre Dame to Dallas? That would be a great opponent for C-USA to land in a bowl.

Why does this author stick with C-USA having only 5 bowl qualified teams and giving up Dallas? It is more likely that we have 7 qualified teams than 5.

Notre Dame as the Hear of Dallas opponent, be it Rice, NT or whatever CUSA team, would probably assure a sellout ! Let's hope the Irish come to Dallas.

For UNT, the Liberty against Florida or Tennessee, or Heart of Dallas against Notre Dame would be great! The Military Bowl against Duke would be dumb, and I don't think B.B. would send us there.

You think CUSA is going to do us any favors? I could very well see them sending us to the Beef Bowl to play a MAC team or whatever left over team qualifies and giving others here for the long haul the better match up with an ACC school like Pitt or whoever might end up there. They would be pretty stupid not to.

How does NT help sell out this game if they can't even fill their own stadium? Also, would be shocked if Notre Dame plays North Texas in this bowl game. Notre Dame will have its pick of bowls and opponents once the top teams are picked for the top bowls.

I think Hawaii is worse. Since C-USA keeps relationships with New Orleans and Beef, I think we work with those bowls and Tulane to New Orleans is a lock. But I would not be surprised if ECU gets a bad deal if you are not the champs.

I wouldn't be surprised at all since ECU is taking off. Why should the conference help them out? They shouldn't.

RE: Latest Bowl Projections
CUSA Commish' Brit Banowsky knows which school would travel the most fans to the HOD Bowl no matter who the opponent is and that is what most would call a no-brainer. To some of you who might be newbies, UNT once traveled (according to the Austin-American Statesman) approx 20,000 fans down to Austin for a Mean Green/Longhorns football game.

It is my guess that Banowsky will probably play a big part in matching each CUSA team elgible for a bowl to play such a post season game in their own region. Makes sense and cents I think most would agree. So that would be Rice or North Texas for the HOD bowl with head-on giving the Mean Green an advantage but..............season ain't near over so lets all wait and see (since that is what we all have to do anyway)?

True we could get sent to Hawaii as punishment, but then again that's not the worst thing that could happen. The opponent is decent, it's the only game on at that time, and the players love the trip out there. It's bad for the fans but realistically I'd most likely only go to the Military or Liberty anyway so anything else is going to be me watching from home.

If you will read the post CAREFULLY, no reference was made to NT selling out the game. Notre Dame's presence would be the biggest aid in that. Notre Dame attracts huge numbers to away games.07-coffee3

Firstly, we won't be playing some spare school such as one from the AAC; secondly, we once took 17,000 to New Orleans for a Tuesday night bowl game (multiply that by at least 2 X's for a local bowl with freakin' Notre Dame as the opponent for crissakes') and thirdly, we are in the beginnings of a Mean Green football renaissance, ie, back to our winning ways with a real HFC that had on his resume when we hired him 3 yrs ago over a decade with HFC'ing experience at a Big 12 football program--a hiring philosophy that North Texas got away from for over 30 years and one that I hope we won't suddenly forget when Coach McCarney moves on or retires in the sweet by and by. .

That pretty well cover it for you?
