If Olliver Luck leavess WVU for Texas...
...WVU is already discussing options for their AD.

Reportedly their number one target is Whit Babcock.

BTW, I live in Morgantown. It was a major issue of discussion on the radio shows here tonight.

Would Whit leave for WVU? Will he take Tommy and co with him? How much has Whit accomplished here? He has hired a football coach. How much credit does he get for the stadium renovation? How did Ono factor in the stadium renovation?

TT & Co is not going anywhere soon. And, I honestly don't know how Whit would benefit from a parallel move

Why would Whit want to follow in Luck's footsteps?

Whit's got young kids in one of the best school systems in the country...he's not going to move them, let alone leave a place with so much work still on the table.

I will never say never, but I do agree with your point about the work on this table. To correct what someone else said earlier, this stadium project is all Whit-- from the planning, raising the money and selling it. I could be wrong but I just don't see him walking away without seeing this thing through. I also believe he is not done in terms of other projects he has his eyes on tackling. I hope-- hope-- Whit wants to build a legacy here. If the visions I think he has get completed his name will be promently displayed around these parts for the forseeable future.

Please note... I did NOT say that Whit was going... Only that he is, according to reports, WVU's leading candidate to replace Luck if Luck leaves.

FWIW, Orangebloods is reporting that it could be as early as next week.

If Whit does leave for WVU I think that would be irrefutable evidence that UC is doomed to second class status in athletics pretty much forever.

Whit won't leave for Morgantown. Bank on it. Cincinnati >>> Morgantown.

TT isn't going to Morgantown either. His wife is from 30 minutes from here, they just moved and uprooted from TX and again Cincinnati >>> Morgantown.

Whit lives in terrace park. He has a very nice family and they seem to love the neighborhood and the schools. That said, so did barb jones and mrs Kelly and we know how that turned out. I do think it is a bit of a different situation with Whit. He's not been here very long and Morgantown is well Morgantown.

It might not be forever, but it might mean Whit knows it isn't coming anytime soon.07-coffee3

Yeah I wouldn't leave either if my salary was nearly doubled and I was provided triple the resources to do my job

seriously, He'd be a fool not to listen if they come calling. At the end of the day he has to weigh what the better situation is for him and his family

RE: If Olliver Luck leavess WVU for Texas...
First, Luck would have to be offered the Texas job, second he would have to accept it( pretty sure that he would), third, Whit would have to be the one selected from a list of candidates to be offered the job, and fourth, he would have to take it. Let's cross that bridge when we come to it.
His work as a fund raiser and advocate for the school by all accounts has been great, although IMO the jury is still out on his coaching hires since he arrived.

Why would Whit want to go to a place where the Men's BB coach didn't actually work for him??
