Here are the 8 teams this year with games left and wins needed to get to 6 wins:
Louisiana: 5-2 overall (3-0 SBC)
Games Left: Home (3)-- New Mexico St., Troy, ULM
Away (2): Georgia St., South Alabama
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1
Cajuns win out, 10-2.
Troy: 5-4 overall (3-2 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): Texas St.
Away (2): Louisiana, Mississippi
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1
GoDaddy wants Troy to beat Texas State so they can at least look in their direction.
South Alabama: 3-4 overall (1-2 SBC)
Games Left: Home (3): Ark. St., ULM, Louisiana
Away (2): Navy, Georgia St
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 3
5-7 won't cut it. Only possible wins are Georgia State & ULM.
Arkansas St.: 3-4 overall (1-1 SBC)
Games Left: Home (2): Texas St. and Georgia State
Away (3): South Alabama, ULM, WKU
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 3
One of two GoDaddy's best possible option. Only loss should be Western and maybe not that.
ULM: 5-4 overall (3-1 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): Ark. State
Away (2) South Alabama, Louisiana
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1
They better beat South Alabama if they want to be considered.
Texas St: 5-3 overall (2-2 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): WKU
Away (3): Idaho, Ark. St., Troy
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 1
Idaho & Troy are winnable, 7-5...I doubt GoDaddy takes a sniff if they have other options.
Western Kentucky: 4-4 overall (1-3 SBC)
Games Left: Home (1): Arkansas St.
Away (3): Georgia St., Army, Texas St.
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: 2
If they don't win the three games leading up to Arkansas State, Bobby Petrino needs to be slapped. 7-5, 8-4 if they beat the Red Wolves, better of the two GoDaddy best options.
Georgia State: 0-8 overall (0-3 SBC)
Games Left: Home (3): WKU, Louisiana, South Alabama
Away (1): Ark. St.
Wins needed to get bowl eligible: Cannot get bowl eligible
Here is my best guess right now at teams that will have at least 6 wins:
Louisiana
Troy
Texas St.
South Alabama
Arkansas St.
I know 5 will not be bowling but it is very realistic to see 3 SBC teams going bowling.
New Orleans Bowl: Cajuns
GoDaddy: Best option-Western Kentucky
Second best-Arkansas State
GoDaddy wants Troy because of proximity to site, they've been to bowl games, they should travel well enough. Arkansas State is the second best proven commodity because they know Jonesboro will represent. Western has also been to a bowl and they are closer to Mobile than they are to Detroit. Everybody else is "only if I have to."
Other bowls: The only options for a third bowl, even with a 6-6 record, are Arkansas State and Western Kentucky, and that's because they've been to bowls more recently than anyone else in the conference AND they travel better than the other bowl representative last year, ULM. I really don't like the Sun Belt's chances of getting a third bowl. All of the BCS conferences appear like they will meet their tie-in requirements, with the possible exception of the Big 12. The Mid-American will have more qualifiers than they have tie-ins and the extras will have better records than our teams. Notre Dame has to go somewhere, but they will probably take one of the AAC berths. There is a lot of football still left to play.
I know I'm nitpicking, but Western is actually just as close to Detroit as they are to Mobile. Due to proximity they were always the best SBC team to send there. Now I think they would travel better to Mobile because 1) it isn't -100 degrees there and 2) the likelihood of one of their bowl attendees getting gunned down, robbed, etc. is probably lower there.
Ok, I stand corrected. Detroit is closer.

10,000 in freezing rainy weather is not bad. In a dome In New Orleans I would expect more. Not near what the Cajuns bring, but more than dreary weather in Shreveport. Look let's not have pissing matches all day today. It's football day and although we aren't playing I don't want to detract from everyone who is. We can continue this tomorrow. Happy Football Day everyone!

The east side of the stadium was full at the beginning, but with the weather and how the game went it emptied quick.

Yeah, when it comes to bowl travel ULM did pretty well with 24,000 filling up the west side stands at Independence Stadium. If by some fortune we get to go bowling again, we'll see how we do going to some place like Mobile but we'd represent well in New Orleans or Dallas. If you want to see who travels well, send ULL someplace other than New Orleans or Mobile. When you get out of your region, that's the indicator of how well you travel. Not a short drive under 100 miles. Nobody in this conference will travel well to Detroit.
