There's no reason to worry about losing to Murray State. If an instate game couldn't be set up then it's a fine replacement.

No it's not.

It makes our SOS look worse than this year.

Enough said:

Quote:"The 2015 schedule closely reflects the model we are striving for in our scheduling philosophy." Frazier said. "We want to play a minimum of six home games in Huskie Stadium with a seventh being played in the Chicagoland area. Under the new College Football Playoff, we're going to be measured by strength of schedule and common opponents will be weighed heavily. Games against teams like UNLV and Wyoming will help us in this area."

I don't see how this schedule helps with the Access bowl if SOs is more of an argument than it is now.

2 MWC teams...it helps.
No it doesn't. We beat 2 B1G this year and may get left out.

Read what Frazier said. The new system will look at SOS and common opponents will be a heavy component of that. Playing UNLV and Wyoming will give us common opponents with the other MWC teams...and hopefully we will handle both of those teams at home. It's a good strategy.

Also, does it really matter what the caliber of the FCS team is? The only thing that should be considered is how the opponent will affect attendance.

And SOS is MORE important than common opponents.

No thecalaber of the FCS opponent doesn't matter because the people outside looking in just see a us playing a FCS team, OSU and 2 nonAQs instead of 2 AQs and 2 nonAQs.

I respectfully disagree. Murray State is a good program. It's not Western or Illinois State, or SOuthern, but it's probably the next best for that slot.

We shouldn't be playing good FCS teams. More risk for very little reward.

We are getting bashed left and right by having a close game with EIU.

Then I hope you enjoy the Presbyterian College Blue Hose next year!

Duh! You had two straight seasons of 7 home games-counting Soldier Field just before the two seasons of five home games.

Once the "Group of Five" playoff setup goes into effect, we won't really be competing with the AQ conferences as much. There will be a dedicated spot every year for a non-AQ, but we need to be able to be rated higher than the Boise States, Fresno States, & Louisvilles of college football. Only one of us will go, most likely. But the good news is: one of us will go every year.

Better news it you can take Louisville off that list as they are going to the ACC next year.

NIU seems to be anticipating that the MWC will be the conference most often vying for that spot, have 2 common opponents with Boise, Fresno, etc is a much better gauge than having one(see Idaho this year).

I agree and moron compher got EIU why I have no idea. Lets get a colgate, murray state, etc. A bad D-1AA team is looked at as the same as a top 5 D1-AA team (nobody cares we beat an awesome EIU team). Get the really bad ones and have the game over at the half then put in your back up QB develop some confidence. This is what big time programs do. Aren't we trying to be big time?

The game was scheduled long before they were known to be a good FCS team. We need to always be playing in state FCS teams for attendance purposes.

If we would have played an beat NU rather than Idaho then how close the EIU score was doesn't matter.

RE: 2015 Schedule
If we played NU we would have 1 had an injury and been banged up 2 have to play big ten refs in the 4th quarter 3 Got no credit bc their record sucks. I am glad we did what we did. Beat two big ten teams and got paid. The Eastern game we should have gotten out of.

NIU uses the same QB coach EIU does and he openly said that he is NFL material. I am glad we got some practice on a qb like that with a weak defense so you trade punches and know you can win but it might not have been worth the chance.

Lets keep going 1-0 every week god bless lynch . In Frazier We Trust. THE HARD WAY.
