if NZ is PSU's new president, then the football program will be in worse shape than the Coach Paterno scandal left it.

I guess in today's environment I would go to Cincinnati State and then transfer to UC, which would accomplish the same goal. Oh, well. I'll pour out some booze over the grave of University College.
I'm with you. Ended up with multiple degrees from UC but I wouldn't even be admitted now.

How can you possibly say that? It was during her tenure that UC may have reached its historic pinnacle.

I hope you are using hyperbole here because this is not even close to being a true statement. I don't like Nancy Z because of how she handled the Huggins affair which was a debacle and she was just not a very likable person to boot. But she did some good things on the academic front for UC as Marcus so deftly described. I'd take Ono over her hands down without question. But to say she will make the fb program worse off than the Sandusky scandal simply isn't true.

Disliking someone is one thing, but using some of the jabs that folks are using is another. I'm embarrassed.
Ouch - we never want to be accused of being "borderline".

If UC had never fielded a single athletic team in history, she still would have been a disaster.
1) Her contract gave her a big bonus if grad rates went up. She closed Evening College, closing many poeple out of enrichment programs and she got her bonus. The state of OH auditors wrote a scathing review of this action because she was pushing less revenue through the same fixed costs thus causing the cost of every hour of education to go up.
2) She lost a $210mm grant from P&G because she refused to give the professor heading up the department getting the grant a $10k raise. He quit, went to TN and the grant followed him.
3) Etc., etc., etc.
Run from Nancy as fast as you can.

My impression of Nancy was that she cared about her own ambition more than that of the University. Should would never have worked long term at UC.

The reality is that NZ was tasked by the BOT to fire Huggins. He had become a liability . A direct quote from the Steger admin to me was that Huggins had to go. She was very good for UC and is also very ambitious, very political and divisive. I do not think she has anything against athletics, although her hire of MT was not inspired.

I honestly don't understand point #1 about less revenue. Evening College was shut down, so was University College. Despite that, enrollment during her tenure rose steadily, and it's through increased enrollment that a university gets its revenues. Not only were more people entering UC, they more were staying once they got there, not to mention out-of-state enrollment increased dramatically as well. During her stay, I believe enrollment increased from 32-33,000 to around 37,000. It's rather remarkable that UC's attendance is now around 42,000 and just recently entered its largest class ever.
It was also under Zimpher that the recently-completed billion dollar campaign got started.
I'm also extremely dubious about your $210M number from P&G. EXTREMELY.

No, bat, I'm the one who is sorry. I'm not going to get over bull**** comments using "skirt" as if it's derogatory. People certainly have their reasons for criticizing Zimpher, and that's fine and perhaps even valid., but none of them should have anything to do with her being a woman.

Ok here, I'll try this a different way. You can't find anything sexist I said about her ok... I don't approve or encourage those types of things to be said either. But all I'm asking you is, take it with a grain of salt, ok? You have to understand the level of vitriol when it comes to this topic, especially on a board like this where so many of us love bearcat sports first and foremost. I don't get involved in the how has mick done debates, etc... But he literally took over a program that was basically given the death penalty by that person. Regardless of sex (I know she's a woman) that person destroyed something we all care about dearly so if some things seem over the top, they probably are, but the reaction is understandable. And know it has nothing to do with his or her sex, but rather what they did in a lot of people's eyes
