Slightly OT- VA Pilot article on college fb economics
The VA Pilot sports section had an article on the front page entitled "Crash Course" about athletic expense and revenues, particularly fb. Here is the opener, "out-of-control football spending is creating a doomsday scenario for colleges, who are gambling on limitless revenues and mortgaging the future." The article is obviously written from a bias and inadequately researched IMO. But it does raise and address some pertinent issues. Actually, the Pilot picked it up from The Washington Post.

Also interesting the Pilot is willing to risk running afoul of the Wood Selig PR machine they've been driving the last few years.
