I saw an ad for it on TV. They are calling it "the battle of the Carolinas". : )

There are a lot of worse places to go to a football game in November than Myrtle Beach. Have great respect for CCU coach Moglia - they gave us a pretty good game last year in the playoffs.
"Shonts" win this one, but give Charlotte a year or two and the results will be reversed

I'll probably go down and watch the basketball exhibitions and keep track of the game on Twitter.
The game will be on WCCB, FYI.
I'm aware. Between the exhibitions and the soccer match afterwards I will miss the football game.

Hoping that we're competitive on Saturday, offense needs to get on track early to have a chance.

Its Myrtle Beach, no one lives there for seven months of the year. And those that do tend to be in the 55+ age range.
Indeed, I lived there for three years and that place is a ghost town from October to February (when all the Canucks come down to golf). Had friends and co-workers at Coastal who didn't even know they had a team or cared. The school also struggled to connect with the community who did live there year round. Unless you were near campus, you would forget they were even there.
I hope your talking about the CCU Campus, because the MB area in general is NEVER a ghost town. In fact, even during the winter the entire grand strand is heavily visited.

IF we hold them below their scoring average of 48 points and stay within 25 I will be happy (ie; just don't want to see them score in the 50s or 60s). I am expecting it to be ugly though, given our lack of depth on defense (including the loss of Bryan and Holt this week). I think Bryan is our best all-around defender.

This one might get ugly for Charlotte. Assuming this is a H-H, you should fare better next year when you host the Chants in McColl-Richardson with a full season of football under your belt.

I was using a bit of hyperbole. But the difference between winter and the rest of the year is noticeable. Heavily visited is overreaching in my opinion. There's a reason most restaurants in MB hire seasonal staff and don't offer them the ability to continue working past September.

They are indeed coming to Charlotte next season, Sat Nov 8.

Uh, no----not sure how long its been since you've been to the area between September and May, but while its not summer crowds (of course) it is still very crowded most of the time. Its actually quite amazing.

Huh? I said October to February. Never mentioned spring. And yes, I go quite a bit. I have a condo in River Oaks and have some family that live all around Horry County. Maybe we have different haunts but crowded is not the word I would use for Myrtle in the winter.

I know you didn't, but I did because if you're there much you know Labor Day to Memorial Day is pretty consistent crowd-wise, with the obvious spikes around Easter (Spring Break). You must have not been around back in the 70s and 80s when the GS was actually quiet during the "off-season". My point is there really is not an "off-season" down there now. There is now a CRAZY busy season (summer) and a not quite as crazy season (the rest of the year).

Better than "The University of North Carolina at Charlotte".
Not at all better than "The University of Charlotte" though. Some day.

FALSE!
Chanticleers is one of my favorite mascots/nicknames in sports. It's about as nerdy as they come, but that's part of what makes it awesome.
