That's what I figured, just like we are eligible for the championship (lol) this year.

Yes ODU is one year behind UTSA. Only way ODU can go to a bowl next year is if there aren't enough bowl teams. UTSA is fully eligible next year. Not sure about Charlotte but guessing they're one year behind ODU bowl eligibility wise.

We have all FBS wins. UTSA is the only team in college football this year to have an all-FBS schedule.
The only team in the entire country??

It's actually true. Only way UTSA goes bowling is by going 4-0 to finish the season & need less than 70 teams to become bowl eligible. Not sure either will happen.

I know off the top of my head USC, Standford, UCLA, and ND do not have a FCS team on their schedule this year.

You have three other CUSA schools in Texas. What non-FBS schools do they play this season?

FAU has Tulane at home, atUSM, and then both NMSt and FIU at home. We're 1-4 in the conference, but 3 of those loses were by an average of 3 points, including a 7 point OT loss to Middle. FAU and Middle both have gotten the difficult CUSA East programs out of the way.
First of all stop being so damn sensitive. Second, FAU is 2-6 and I think it is highly unlikely FAU wins their remaining 4 games which is why I didn't mention them. But if you would like to start a topic explaining FAU's excellent bowl chances then by all means do so.
Third, I mentioned UTSA because I thought they had a very slim chance of winning three games to become bowl eligible. Regardless of the Runners current eligible status, they would still need to win three games to have a chance of going to a bowl game.

I don't think you're wrong saying he was being sensitive, but I do think you're wrong in saying they are unlikely to win out. I'm not willing to bet on FAU going 4-0 but I think they are better than all four of their remaining opponents, while it may be asking a bit of a 2-6 team to win four in a row, they are capable.

UTSA had 4 games left
@ Tulsa winnable
Tulane winnable
@ UNT winnable
Tech winnable
This is the easy part of our schedule. No gimmes but no these teams are far from Oklahoma St or Arizona.

My apologies. Was repeating info I was told without checking on it... which is always smart (sarcasm).
Anyway, to your second point, UTSA is a bowl counter this year.

I remember reading that too, was gna use on another board before I realized UT doesnt play FCS teams either. Kinda odd they would use that.

Don't count Marshall out just yet. We've been snatching defeat from the jaws of victory since 2005. Odds are reasonable that we'll be bowl bound, but until I see the Ws I'm not taking anything for granted.

UTSA is considered an FBS team for the purposes of other teams bowl eligibility. In other words, a team can play UTSA PLUS an FCS team and be bowl eligible with 6 wins.

In Fedora's first year, Southern Miss started off 2-6. Then they won the next 5 games to finish 7-6 and kept the program's streak of consecutive winning seasons alive. So it has happened in this conference recently.

UNT is piecing together one hell of a season! I'd expect the line on that game to be UNT minus 8+ points. But, at the same time, I wouldn't call it a gimmie win for the Mean Green. UTSA will show up to play for the W.
For now, the focus is Tulsa. We'll talk UNT next week!
