Re: GameDay: NIU
An NIU vs MSU game would be interesting, NIU would definitely put up a fight but States defense is solid, might be one of the few defenses out there actually able to stop that beast of a QB NIU has. I'd say it would turn out like the MSU-Indiana game, with MSU being saved by their defense with a turnover or two. But this is an EMU thread so I won't comment on a game that isn't going to happen again, NIU would beat Michigan (imagine the score in that game though...) and pretty much any other Big Ten team other than the bucknuts and possibly Sparty.

NIU had a moment of silence, wore #2 stickers on their helmets, and during discussions with the commentators the NIU athletics director talked about it.

I don't think NIU ran up the score, they've scored 40+ on EMU almost yearly recently. As for throwing it with under a minute left in the first half, they had a chance to try the two minute offense and set up a FG. That's something that needs to be done to get reps as the tougher games come up.

Lastly, NIU could've scored 60 easily and they choice not to. They kneed it when they were near the end zone. Wooden Nickel, you're ignorant and a jerk.

IF NIU doesn't make a BCS bowl, I'd like to see NIU vs say Northwestern (assuming it makes bowl eligibility) in the LCPB or even IL if they make bowl eligibility.

Bowls are for games which normally wouldn't happen in the regular season, e.g., OSU vs. Oregon in the Rose Bowl (my funky prediction), B1G vs. SEC in Florida bowls. Few outside the SEC are interested in a SEC match-up (ala AL vs. LSU of recent past) in the NC championship game.
