Damn, Z.. I don't think you have any friends here anymore. Nobody wants to comment on the blog.
It's impossible to argue against the truth.

Gents, it needs no comments. Just knowing that those that need to be educated are reading this, warms the cockles of my heart...

Some of us are just tired of arguing. We've been at this all week, time to take a break. I'm sure it'll heat up again.

Of all the ULM folks out there you seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders, so pay attention.. It WONT heat up again because its over. There is 0, nada, nothing that will be done about our use of Louisiana on our jerseys, on TV, magazines, publications etc. Now, everyone in La, you guys, Louisiana Tarp, Ms Tabby (the most uneducated of them all) need to focus on making your Universities the best they can be.
Good Luck,
Z

Our university is focused on us, I think our admin has made that clear that they are not worried about what is going on south of us, but no I don't think this is over because y'all will cross the line that is being tip toed down now.

No, we won't. We won't have to. As we implement out Master Facilities Plan and continue to grow our budget; more and more people and media outlets will call us UL or Louisiana. Once ESPN starts calling us UL, and they will; the scales will be tipped irrevocably in that direction.
We don't care what our legal name is, only what people call us. 20 years from now, people everywhere will call us "Louisiana" or "UL" or "the University of Louisiana", and we will officially still call ourselves the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Not completely. How are you going to pass a law that is effective against private persons without infringing on free speech rights regardless of how trivial that right may be?
Aren't there better uses of the legislature's time? Shouldn't your reps fight the governor from bleeding our institutions to death slowly?
Wouldn't that serve your university better in the long run?
Why don't you ask those reps why they sat by on the sidelines while no one is there to stop your school from bleeding out?

Much more important to worry about what we call ourselves than to worry about their own cash strapped institution. Be the best ULM can be. We'll worry about UL.

We are going in circles with this. Definetly already covered the first amendment. Also I've never bothered contacting my legislator or university admin on the name issue, because its not that important to me. Really just getting tried of y'all beating other posters up over an extra L or Lafayette. I could care less if someone called ULM monore, UL monore, Louisiana monore, or NLU. Don't beat other posters up for using your athletic name wrong when your entire fan base doesn't. talk about petty.

Not nearly as fun as us beating you in the NO Bowl unless y'all run and hide.

With out doubt their are. My loophole response was more to show something could be done, not that it would be.
