Love opening with an FCS team.
Hate that it's a good FCS team. There's nothing to be gained by playing a good FCS team...if you're going to play one, may as well play the weakest one possible.

Hate potentially having a bye in Week 2. I really hope something gets moved there.

Hate playing at Central Michigan. SU should have scheduled Old Dominion or Georgia State or one of the Florida directionals. I'd be willing to give those schools a 1-1. Michigan is not as good a recruiting state as people think and nobody is going to buy tickets to see CMU when they play in the Dome.

Love playing Maryland.

Love playing Notre Dame.
Hate that it's in New Jersey.

Cuse was backed into the corner with getting CMU...still they got a 2 for 1.

I wouldn't give GaSt or ODU a 1-1...it would have to be a 2-1. FIU/FAU I could go with a 1-1 and play them opposite years to the away game in Tally. As long as OC McDOnald is there we need to get into Miami Area for a game.

Interesting question about scheduling strategy. Should we use our G5 games to target Ohio and Michigan, where we won't have any other games, or use it double up on the ACC's rich recruiting areas like Atlanta and Miami?

As far as recruiting area, you can't beat the 757 with ODU and it's much closer than Atlanta and Miami. ODU gave VT a 2-1 so I'm sure they'd do the same for other ACC members.

When VT signed their deal ODU said that VT was the only school they would consider a 2-1 for.

Good luck with that. Let's see who they can schedule at home with that approach.

I suspect that the coaching staff and the AD may want to schedule more games in Illinois. Seems that Illinois is a major area for recruiting because of the coaching staff's connections to the state. I would not be surprised if someone like Northwestern or Illinois pop up on the schedule.
The offensive coordinator has a lot of connections in Florida so playing some games there might be an option but I suspect Illinois or Northwestern will be a more likely opponent.
