English 10? It's either a state specific designation or you got about 1/10th of the way to English 101.

Tulane is already recognized as the academic leader in the state; I don't think there is too much to worry about.

I agree that UT is one of the best universities in the South. But, WRONG. UT gave up the University of Louisiana name when you went private. You lost all rights to a public university name. And, Louisiana has a graduating class in 1984 as the University of Louisiana. So, you are not the only university to be legally called the University of Louisiana, a name we legally obtained the same way LA Polytechnic Institute changed its name to LA Tech and LSUNO changed its name to UNO. And, BTW, we were the first public college in the state to become a university (other than LSU A&M College), so everyone else followed our lead.

THEY didn't. Louisiana and LA Tech are at the same level academically. We are both Carnegie rated the same and are both national universities. LA Tech is Tier 1 under USN&WR, but is 1/3 of our endowment and 1/4 of our research. Louisiana is a Princeton Review top 377 university. Tech is not, only UL, UT and LSU in the state. Louisiana is a Top 100 research university. Louisiana is approaching Doctoral 1 status. Tech is not close. Every other college in Louisiana is regionally rated.
