Yep, all one has to do is read any of your posts about us and hear the contempt in your words.

Sorry buddy but were here to stay and we aren't going to roll over just because you don't want more competition

I think H.O.D. might just be bringing up another angle here. Some Texas recruits might want to get away from home and play for Alabama, LSU, or Georgia, although I have long felt, and stated so many times, that playing just two games in front of the folks at home in a four year college career might entice recruits to stay closer to home. In this case...College Station. It is my opinion that within three years the Aggies will dominate the Texas pipeline, which is why the Longhorns might be looking for a more inviting situation very soon.

Don't confuse what I'm saying for contempt.

A certain number of recruits were always fine with leaving. The expansion of the conference has just made leaving a possibility for more kids than it was previously.

It also means that some kids will no longer have to weigh playing for a potential NC and staying home and playing in a slightly different arena.

I think in the years to come we will see A&M and Texas come to a greater level of parity instead of the historical mismatch. You'll also see even more kids head East.

Bit, how is your assessment of the Huskers any different from what people have been saying about WVU move to the B12? Yes I know FL and the SE in general are also part of the 'Eers recruiting territory, but how is one cut off and the other isn't?

BTW This includes just yesterday when we had the #1 players in Texas for both 2014 and 2015 Myles Garrett and Daylon Mack (both D players thankfully) commit to A&M

I know Dixie really wants to see us drop off and not be another annual challenge for Bama, but as long as we are the only game in TX selling the SEC, our recruiting will make us a contender.

To be quite honest, I don't really care what A&M does. Failure has been the norm thus far.

The point is that for all the hype we've seen not many saw Mizzou ultimately making a stronger transition, which they have, or will rather if they make the SEC Championship game.

Also, few people saw Mizzou being able to put together a complete and competitive team. Mizzou is strong on both sides of the ball. Meanwhile, A&M is bad on defense and a one man band on offense.

The reality versus expectations between the two teams is really pretty interesting.

BTW, being in Texas is no huge advantage to you. All it means is the very best can go to Alabama, Florida, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia and compete for national titles while still getting to do some playing in Texas in front of their family and friends. That's a pretty good sell for those other programs.

Are you referring to Mike Evans, Jake Matthews, or Johnny Manziel?

WVU isn't cut off from their prime recruiting ground, like Nebraska is. Texas kids want exposure close to home. The kids WVU recruits come from the area surrounding Morgantown, plus Florida. There are a good number of Florida kids who want to get away from the situation they've grown up in, looking for a better life, without all the troubles they've grown up with. West Virginia offers that. Also, there are bridges that WVU has built and maintained over the years that help bring kids to West Virginia. Damon Cogdill, the head football coach at Miami area Miramar HS is a WVU grad. He's not the only such...
