William & Gary has another weird team that doesn't fit Laycocke's mold. They are #3 in the nation in scoring defense and #102 in passing yards/game. This is the exact opposite of what we have seen from Laycocke over most of his career as he has hit a funk finding good QB's.
The featherless Tribe's over reliance on the run plays right into Mickey's scheme and the Dukes should have a great chance to get a CAA road win.

It's homecoming for W&M. They have beaten everyone they should have beat, lost close to Villanova, and got beat fairly well by Maine.

We are coming off a bye week, which is typically a good thing for us. This is probably the second easiest game we have left (not a knock on W&M, but they aren't better than Towson/VU/UNH). We need this win in our quest for 8 wins (yes, I think it will take 8 wins and a 5-3 CAA record to make the playoffs).

W&M wins with defense. They are solid against both the run and the pass, but they aren't the type of team that can air the ball out against us.

I predict a low scoring affair. If we can score early and put them on their heels, I think we will be able to grind out a win.

Unfortunately, yes. In 2004, we lost to them on a last-second FG. Then, we *****-slapped them in the semis on ESPN2. Dirty's sign FTW.

In typical nerd fashion, the computers are favoring W&M. Massey has them as a most likely 24-13 winner which makes me question how legit Massey is for FCS. I can only assume that SOS is a HUGE factor in predicting for that model.

I can't see either team winning by more than 7, but I think the Dukes will pull it off. W&M should have the beast defense we'll face all season (including Akron).
