Week 9 in SBC-- 4 conference games
Louisiana at Arkansas St: Game of the week in the conference Tuesday. I think Louisiana is the best team in the conference this year but I am sure this will be a good game. I think Louisiana probably has a bit better offense so I am going with Louisiana 31-28.

Troy at WKU: Hard game to pick. WKU seems to self-destruct at times but I am going to go with them at home in this one. WKU 35 Troy 28

South Alabama at Texas St.: I have watched Texas St. a couple of times on TV and their offense is struggling bigtime. South Alabama is probably the surprise team in the league to this point and I am going with USA to win on the road: USA 27 Texas St. 21

Georgia St. at ULM: I am assuming Browning will not be back for this one. Georgia St. is getting better. ULM 's offense is struggling, and I am going out on a limb here and predicting Georgia St. gets their first win: Ga. State 28 ULM 24

RE: Week 9 in SBC-- 4 conference games
If Fran keeps the offense bottled up like he has the past two weeks, we aren't going to be within one score of South Alabama except in the first quarter.

Our defense is good, but it can't hold forever.

UL edges stAte (purely hope on my part)

Troy dominates WKM

USA wins going away at TxState after struggling a bit in the first half

GAState gets first win at ULM

Good luck to all.....and zero injuries!

Louisiana vs A State= Louisiana 31-30

WKU vs Troy= Troy > WKU 39-28 Again BP team self destructs with three picks

Ts St vs USA, my two favorite non UL teams. Passing on this one, but home team should win.

Ga State vs Hoax= Ga State gets first and only
win of their season, beating the overinflated MoanROW WarHoaxes.

So let it be written so let it be done.

RE: Week 9 in SBC-- 4 conference games
UL beats stAte by 10.... UL is the best in our league

TROY beats WKU by 3.... This is a make it or break it game for Troys season if they want a 7-5 or better season and make a bowl. Troy will get a couple turnovers and Troy will protect the ball.

GA State beats ULM by 3.... GSU is improving and will bite someone in the butt. I think ULM will struggle.

USA beats TSU by 10.... USA is just too much for TSU to handle, the USA defense will keep TSU from scorning anymore than 14.

Louisiana vs stAte -- Cajuns running game is the difference here.

Texas State vs USA-- USA has become a force to be reckoned with and they are gaining confidence every week.

Ga State vs whiny b*tches-- in a reversal of roles, once rated the worst team in 1A, Ga State now gets a chance to play the absolute dregs of 1A. Ga State in a rout.

WKU vs Troy-- home field advantage to Toppers. Troy flexes offensive muscles

have a lovely Sunday, loved ones...

stAte - high scoring game, but until someone beats us, we're the champs & I think we'll pull out a W on Tues night!
Troy: wku will prolly turn it over...alot
USA: usa is playing pretty good ball & Tx st. isn't right now
ULM: until GaSU wins a game, I can't pick em.

RE: Week 9 in SBC-- 4 conference games
Georgia State at ULM: I don't see Browning playing in this game. I also don't see GSU winning either but they are improving. ULM goes to 4-4 with four awfully difficult games remaining.

Troy at WKU: This is a tough one. This game could swing several ways each quarter but I'll take WKU in a squeaker if their running game can control the ball. If Troy wins I would not be surprised at all.

ULL at ASU: Another tough one to pick. Broadway has shown this season that he can play with confidence but can also get into too big a hurry. A-state has been more consistent overall but I'm still not overly sold on their offense. I go with the R-Wolves on this one since it's in Jonesboro but home field's about the only extra advantage I see.

South Alabama at Texas State: TSU can run the ball. Throwing it? Not so much. USA is coming on like gangbusters.

If pretty much all WKU does is run the ball they will be in trouble... Our front line is pretty good as we are #1 in the conference in sacks.... If they are going to beat us they will need to pass.

Umm... if WKU hands the ball off and runs, wouldn't that mean less sacks since the RB would be the one with the ball? And if they are passing that means the QB is holding onto the ball which means there is potential for more sacks. Your logic makes no sense. It's backwards.

Regardless, we are first in sacks and tackles for loss, as well as second in run defense, which is the point. Troy will still give up a lot of points through the air. I expect another shootout. Hopefully Troy comes out on top.

Troy logic? Go figure? I think he believes WKU will not be able to run, and forced to throw the ball, thus the sacks.

If they are forced to throw, they won't have much problem doing it. Our secondary is not very good.

RE: Week 9 in SBC-- 4 conference games
Louisiana at Arkansas St: Louisiana seems more complete so far. Said the same thing about Louisiana and WKU. A couple western fans were butthurt at my picking Western to lose by 21. I was very close.

Troy at WKU: Hard game to pick. So I'm not going to. Toss up.

South Alabama at Texas St.: Texas State's offense seems to be off to slow start this season. South has a good defense and their offense is underrated, in my opinion. They are playing with more confidence as well. I think South takes this one.

Georgia St. at ULM: Georgia State by 3. ULM's offense hasn't been good even with Kolton Browning. Georgia State will be highly motivated looking for their first win.

Troy is second in rush defense in the league. Is this legit or do the Savannah State and Georgia State games greatly help this stat?. WKU's Andrews will get his yards. He is that good. He averages 60 more rushing yards per game than the nearest running back in the league.

Troy is last in pass defense. Petrino WANTS badly to throw.

I'd be worried about this game if I was Troy.

So? StAte had Arkansas Pine Bluff and ULM had Grambling etc

Not not saying we are going to beat wku for sure. But other schools have had push over games as well.

Which is why I asked the question, "Is this legit...?" There is no telling where Troy truly ranks as of right now. I wasn't being disrespectful to Troy. The best way to answer that is to use conference only stats at the end of the season since everyone will have played everyone. Regardless if Troy is first or last in rushing defense Andrews is too good to contain all game. He will make some plays.
