Yea After Ohio lost to CMU last week to have EMU driving for the lead seemed legit.

if we're going to criticize a 28pt victory over a bad team then we need to look at Buffalo at home vs UMass. Not a single offensive TD until the 4th quarter?

UB's 5 wins have been against 4 FBS teams that are 1-26 v FBS and 1-3 v FCS. I know 5 wins in a season is rarefied air for the Bulls but I think we're beginning to lose perspective.

I *HAVE* criticized Buffalo for their slow starts against WMU and UMass.. I have also said we still don't know who UB is yet and wont until after the Kent and Ohio games.

5 wins for Buffalo is pretty rare.. It's only happened in 2007,2008,2009, and now 2013... Thats rare as hell... But way more frequent than Conference Championships from our "flagship" program in Athens..

Ya, and their two losses are to the #4 and #8 teams in the BCS standings. And they played with #4 for most of the game.

No because it was 21-7 Ohio first quarter on the road and then its started pouring rain and Tettleton had a bad series or two where he couldn't hang onto to ball.

EMU then made a few game adjustments to get the offense moving for a while but a predictable interception in the end zone and everything was back to normal. There was never a point where EMU was a threat to actually win the game, Ohio just played poorly for a stretch to keep them in it.

The CMU game felt scary from start to finish. They were playing hard and physical on offense. It was the missed field goals by CMU that kept Ohio in the game to mount a 4th quarter comeback that was denied at the end. CMU deserved to win and Ohio nearly stole it from them at home.

EMU was over matched so badly that Ohio played poorly for 2 quarters and still dropped 56 their highest point total under Solich.

Buffalo has played two great teams, one decent team, and 4 bad teams. They have the end of their schedule to prove themselves. Can't fault em for playing the big boys.

4) loser of Toledo/BGSU
5) Buffalo
6) Ohio

7) #7 and beyond, does it really matter?

The MAC West is no longer light-years ahead of the East...in fact, they are pretty even now espcially with the demise of Western and Eastern being Eastern

If Toledo wins wouldn't that mean 3rd in the west is better than 1 in the east....

Toledo is the Obi Won Kenobi of the MAC, if you strike them down you only make them stronger (in these polls). A quality loss to a team like BG could be just the boost they need to break into the top 2.

Oh, trust me, Western will be back. When? We don't know. But I'll bet we are getting a motor for our rowboat...... 05-stirthepot

This year's Ohio team isn't very different than the past 2 years and loaded with proven weapons at RB and WR.

CMU pulled off a 3 point upset @Ohio which they deserved for how they play but I don't think anything statistically backs Buffalo as a clearly stronger team at this point.

I expect Ohio-UB to be a hard fought MAC game and not an automatic W for Buffalo by any stretch of the imagination. Ohio has the edge in a lot of categories.

Im not even sure UB won't be a dog by the time OU and Buffalo Play.. Its not going to be a given for either team.

Solich usually struggles a bit against UB. As bad as UB has been the games have played out like this

2010: 34-17 OU
2011: 38-37 Buffalo
2012: 38-31 OU

It should be a great game if both teams come in healthy.
