Other games THIS week - 10/19/13
OK - having only one thread spanning multiple months is very frustrating to me. I just spent the last couple of minutes looking at scores on the other thread before actually looking at the date. So here is a thread for this week.

UNH just wins a wild homecoming game against Villanova. UNH had tied it with about 2 minutes left, then Villanova charges down the field to take 28-21 lead with 1 minute left. UNH then scores with 13 seconds left (after almost tossing the game away with a bad trick play) and then gets the 2-point conversion to win it 29-28.

That is going to be a long ride back to Philly for Villanova. That is just devastating. The good news is that it might be good for JMU. Still, those types of losses take a lot out of a team.

Tribe getting a hurtin put on them at Maine 31-13....worst case scenario for us there. W&M will be desperate next week and we won't get the SOS boost if the Tribe would've won.

Also, Maine might be scary good.

Also, Maine is easily beating W&M in Maine 34-13 in the 4th (which is on Fox College Sports Atlantic).

And the Ticks are LOSING to URI 9-7 in the 3rd!

According to ESPN Jackson State beat Grambling 1-0. Late game extra point sealed the deal there obviously.

The Towson-Albany game is available on firstrowsports.eu if you don't get the NY channel that is carrying that game. William & Mary-Maine is currently airing on Fox College Sports Atlantic. Richmond-Rhode Island is only available through URI's $5 school streaming site.

Southern Mississippi is 0-6 and has lost 18 consecutive games. They were taken to the woodshed by EZU 55-14. Their last win was in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl 12/24/11.

Tennessee just upset South Carolina on a last second FG...Conner Shaw got hurt and it looked pretty serious. Vanderbilt is primed to upset Georgia right now up 31-27 with the ball with 2:00 left. Missouri crusing against Florida 36-17. Wow! SEC East is a mess right now and Missouri might win that side of the conference.

Rhode Island beats Richmond 12-10.... Wow. They're primed to rival Albany as the worst CAA team this year.

Missouri is the real deal. Expect them to take a leap in the rankings this week. UR just lost to Rhode island. Who does that?

When was the last time Rhode Island had 2 conference wins in 1 season?

In 2010, they beat Towson and Villanova in 2 consecutive games.

EDIT - I had read your question wrong. But it is still true - they had 3 conference wins that year. But that was the last time they won 2 games in a row.

7-0 albany. ESPN got the score wrong and gave them a phantom TD.

Just saw the page reload on that one. ESPN is almost as bad as Schik!

I mentioned it on another thread, but W&M was manhandled by Maine. Maine OL opened up gaping holes and simply looked a few steps quicker all the way around. I don't know what it means for us, but I would think we should be able to control the line of scrimmage on both sides. That said, they will be desperate and fired up.

Guess our win against Richmond wasn't as meaningful as we might have thought.

I never thought it was. That was not a good team. The last half of the season will tell the truth about who we are. The fact is, we lost to UD so while I'm optimistic, I don't know if we have the players to get past some of the other teams. We'll see. For now, just need to beat the F out of W&M.
