Navy came back and put us into overtime. The D didn't handle the triple option well, but did have >4 sacks, and another defensive TD( 4/5th of the season). Special teams proving important as Toledo beats a solid Navy team at home.

With BG not playing no reason to move us ahead or below anyone from last week. But ahead of OU we shall remain!

That facemask tackle on Fluellen by the Navy player was one of the more dirty things I've seen in a while.

Yes. He was clearly down, yet the Navy player still pulled/twisted Flu back.

,

I blame Owens and Reedy. Owens can't throw and Reedy can't catch but just when we look like we'll nail down that fourth good loss they both screw up. One fifth of our total passing yards on one play to ruin everything they worked so hard for the rest of the game.

Both have had disappointing senior seasons. I thought Reedy was NFL bound after last season and he very well may be as a returner. But, multiple dropped passes and several stupid personal foul calls this season have really changed my view of him as a top tier receiver...

UB up 10-0 with 9 min to play in the 2nd quarter

This is the worst, most one sided officiated game I've ever seen. Even the Buffalo announcers are confused about how UB is getting all these calls. What a bunch of crap.

Are you talking about the personal fouls? The UMass player took a swing at a UB player. Don't know what the second was for

Did you see that replay? The Buffalo player was holding Blanchflower's leg and wouldn't let go, well after the whistle and when Blanchflower was trying to return to the huddle. Blanchflower pushed him to get the guy off him. Watching the Buffalo announcers, they even said it was a BS call. Whatever Buffalo player that is was a jerk and I hope he gets what's coming to him down the road.

There was also the catch-fumble UMass recovered called an incomplete pass and a blatant facemask against Buffalo on 2nd-7 that went uncalled. Once again, the UB announcers agreed both those were BS. That was on the play where this competent group of officials had to go to replay to check what down it was. Honest to God. They couldn't even figure out what down it was without help from the replay group. I've never seen anything like that ever. If you have to ask, it makes me seriously wonder whether you watched the first half?

I didn't watch the 2nd half. Went to Game 6 instead. Apparently I made the right decision.

I was at the game so no I didn't see any replays. All I saw was the swing he took. They tried to show a replay up on the board but it was out of frame. I'll take your word for it.

And the WR fumble only happened because the refs failed to throw a flag against the UMASS safety on some blatant headhunting from a kid who is already known for doing that (Miami last week). Now our best WR has a concussion. And you want to talk about "what's coming to him down the road?"

If its any consolation, you'd be fooling yourself to think bad refereeing changed the outcome of that one.

Yes, the opposing D trying to keep Dri contained is supposed to provide openings for the rest of the attack. When there is no rest of the attack, it just doesn't work as well.

4 dropped balls, one was a would-be TD to Reedy he looked into the endzone too soon...The int was 3rd down on Toledo's side of the field with 20 some seconds left in the half, good enough to be a punt.

11/20 with a TD of 20 yards. And 105 yards total.

Not throwing very much because 7ypc and 321 on the ground with 4td's gets the job done most weeks. Navy also had a bad rushing D going into the game, which shows Toledo never deviated from the plan.

Watch the replay on the hit on ESPN3. It was absolutely 100% a clean hit. No helmet to helmet. No targeting. Sometimes injuries happen, and it sucks. I hope the WR is ok.

Also, watch the replay of the "swing." You won't use that word any more.

I understand that the outcome wouldn't have changed. However, like any other fan, I want a fair shot. I get that UMass isn't good enough to compete against Buffalo by themselves. However, it becomes impossible to compete against Buffalo and the refs.
