Football Game 7: Carnegie Mellon 21, Mercer 54---FINAL (6-1, 2-1 Pioneer)
PREVIEW: http://www.mercerbears.com/sports/fball/...101726acm5
Our final game out of the conference, and against another non-D1. Carnegie Mellon is a D-III team from the Northeast. Looking at Wikipedia they actually have more students than I thought (6000+ Undergrad) and a huge endowment near $1 Billion.
On the field they don't look good on the road, and hopefully the long trip to Georgia has them off their game. They aren't pass happy either, which helps out. Carnegie averages about 185 in the air each game. If Mercer can handle the potent Valpo air attack, there's no reason they can't dominate this one.

RE: Football Game 7: Carnegie Mellon (3-3) @ Mercer (5-1)---Saturday/1PM
Mercer all over Carnegie Mellon 47-7 in the 4th quarter. Great to come out and take care of business! Also, the band has really been great all season long. They deserve some credit for being so good in their first season as well.

I love the wins and understand the scheduling of D-IIIs and NAIA teams in the Bears' first season. I hope there are fewer of these games next year and that they would be very rare in the future.
That being said, an occasional game with D-II Valdosta State would be interesting.
I am looking forward to seeing the schedule for 2014.

Yea that schedule will be really interesting. Of course the SoCon opponents will be extremely difficult.

You'll definitely be seeing Wofford, Samford, Chattanooga, Furman, The Citadel, Western Carolina and VMI.
