Greeting Eagle Fans
Hello, and I come in peace. My father and I will be heading up to Ypsilanti from Columbus this weekend for the game. It will be a very hard fought game and I'm actually pretty nervous about the game. I don't know which Bobcat team will show up, the team that came out flat vs CMU (I'll give the Chips credit for coming to play though) and Louisville, or the team that fought hard and won against Marshall and Akron. I understand that the Eagles are having a tough run of luck and have taken a few steps back from the 6-6 campaign but, there is a reason why they play the game and anything could happen. I noticed the boycott thread, and forgive me if I missed it, but what is the reasoning behind it? The poor season? Tired of Ron English? Etc? Not trying to pick a fight, genuinely interested. Finally, I'm interested in some Ypsilanti establishments for pre and post game food and refreshments, preferably some where that I can't get in Columbus, any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Of course in the end I'm hoping for a Bobcat victory like you all are hoping for the Eagles to pull an upset but at the end of the day here's to a safe game with no major injuries, I don't know about the Eagles, but the Bobcats can't afford any more.

Cheers

The Tower Inn is a great place eat in afternoon on Cross St next to our famous Water Tower. For breakfast the Bomber can't be beat it's on Michigan Ave . Another place for one of the best burgers you will ever have is Sidetracks in Depot Town on Cross st.

Hey Ohiofan! glad to hear you're coming up for the game. People are upset because English has done even less that other EMU coaches despite having a bigger budget and better facilities. i don't think the boycott is anything more than some people venting in the comments of an article in the school paper, but i really don't know. what i can guarantee is that you've never seen fewer people in a football stadium than you will this saturday. it will be eerily quiet there. our attendance is poor by the third home game of every season, so coupling this game with a miserable start to the season will only exacerbate the attendance issues.

As for bars, my suggestions are:
- Sidetrack. awesome bar with great burgers.
- The Wurst bar. 10 homemade bratwursts on the menu. i believe the sat drink special is $1.50 well drinks.
- Tap Room. awesome dive bar with a shuffleboard table.
- Red Rock. bbq place with a good beer selection and excellent appetizers.
- Corner Brewery. small menu, but great microbrewery and a very comfortable setting.

Food: the Bomber is a freakshow if food portions. Excellent corned beef hash. Beezys is a cool breakfast burrito place with good potatoes and tattooed girls. Both are in the downtown/Mich Ave area. For meat I highly recommend Wurst for handmade sausages and burgers.

Had a fantastic time up at EMU, granted I was nervous at half time. Couple of thoughts, Your basketball arena is beautiful, it seems compact and close to the action which I would assume makes it really loud; unlike Ohio's arena where it seems a little too big sometimes. Bombers was absolutely fantastic, thank you for the suggestion for breakfast I haven't eaten that well in a while. Also checked out the Sidetrack for a drink, it seemed ok, beer was cold and atmosphere seemed nice except for an unfortunate insect problem in our drinks a couple times. But overall I'd still wanna give those burgers a shot, but I was still full from Bombers.....
The game overall was one of those games where I didn't know who would win until late in the game. Hill is an absolute beast, I wish he was wearing a different shade of green and white, and gave our defense fits. The opening kick return was frustrating but after some background about the last person to run one back being Reed I felt it ended up being a very nice and fitting tribute. There were a lot of injuries for both teams it seemed. We lost our starting DT for maybe the whole season with a knee injury. It also seemed like later in the game more EMU players were falling from injury, I hope your QB isn't hurt, it seemed like some what in the 3rd he disappeared. I also hope other players that came out of the game aren't seriously injured. I sincerely hope things work out with football because with Rynearson Stadium's size it could be a very intense place to play as a visitor. Good luck the rest of the year and again my condolences to your community.

Thanks for the very nice comment.

BTW, I have been on Ohio's campus several times and really like it.

I have been in your Convo twice for basketball games.

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed your time here. Trust me, all of us here long for the time where we can fill up Rynearson and the Convo.

Best of luck to your team the rest of the way
