I'm driving back from STL now. Dad surprised me with a trip to a NLCS clincher! It was a great atmosphere.

I remember the run to the pennant in '64 but really started following them in '67. Our local station (only one MLB broadcast per week in those days) showed all Yankee games so I had to listen to all the games on radio. Cepeda, Brock, Flood, Shannon, McCarver, Javier, Maxville, Gibson, Carlton,Washburn, et. al. Hooked me on the Cards

That's awesome....I watched it with my dad here in the 'burg....we are both old and may not get to do it again....was really cool.

It's funny how there are a number of Card's fans in the 'burg....before the Braves moved, and while KMOX was broadcasted here, STL was the southernmost MLB team. Would've been the same for you guys, with the exception of being west (NL....we don't count AL teams in the equation)

Actually I grew up in Oklahoma. There aren't a lot of native Nevadans. For instance the six other people I work with are all from somewhere else, Illinois, Connecticut, Virginia, Michigan, and California (2). The Cardinals triple-A franchise was in Tulsa when I was a kid before they moved to Louisville. Oddly enough though we seldom got their games broadcast. For years it was the Yankees then when they put the ranger in Dallas we got their games and ended up with a Rangers Double-A team to replace the lost triple-A squad.

I hear ya, but we're scary deep in that dept....the Cards are a case study in the works....all college and no early picks....moneyball???? napes.....

Glad STL was able to gut out the W. The morale in the clubhouse has to be high with a 2-1 lead given the way the first 3 have played out.
I hope Craig and Adams are good to go for the rest of the series. Craig looked like he hurt his foot on the slide home and Adams was grimacing after one of his swings. Losing either of them becomes huge if the series gets back to Boston with the DH.

Think it's more about them not hitting.

With the exception of a couple of games, they really haven't hit this entire post-season.

This... and Wainwright just hasn't been as sharp as he's needed to be.

Game 4 and 5 were back breakers.... still some hope though. Go Cards.
