I guess I am surprised Kennard did not make it on one of the 3 teams. He has had a decent 1st half

Steele stuck WR's in as TE's on the 2nd and 3rd team. Backman is as good as any of them. Pretty sad that we didn't have one player on defense, out of 3 teams. I don't blame Steele though.........not sure who we have that si good enough to be on there........maybe Watkins?

JJ would have been first team if he hadn't been hurt the last two games. It doesn't matter, though. Just win.

As someone once told me on here, "to be fair, Phil Steele is a bit of an assclown."

To not have Ty Long on there at all (he deserves to be 1st team) should remove "a bit of an assclown" to read "a total, full-blown assclown!"

Remember this conference is bizarrely stacked with placekickers.

Hunter made first team though, so yay!

Does this list matter at all? Rhetorical.

Ty is 11 for 15 this year. We know that most of these weren't his fault (bad snaps and holds plus a nearly 60 yarder), but stats are what matter when the league is stacked with kickers. I'm not surprised he didn't make the cut, but I wouldn't trade him for anyone else.

Please lay out your argument for why he deserves 1st team over the others

I could see third team, but I think Ty would agree that while he's had a good year by most standards, he expected to make most of the kicks he missed.

He is 1 successful attempt & probably less than 1 yard away from being on that team.

Without the false start that turned his 54-yarder into a 59-yarder, or having to punt most of the game at LSU, he'd be a lock for 2nd or 3rd team. The Troy game hurt him more than anything else.
