And the Tide will still break my heart there.

RE: SEC Basketball Tournament Home
This is where adding WVU would help. We've had some pretty good basketball teams, and we'd be a great rival for Kentucky's and Tennessee's hoops team...

It's a good compromise for about everyone. It's not Kansas City but Missouri fans will have a fairly easy drive, an arena decked out in Old Gold and Black, and should be at home in a city that provides most of the floor shows for Branson. But I've never liked the floor there. It's elevated and the bench's are under the basket.

Nice job of tying in Branson, JR! It sounds like you are describing Memorial at Vanderbilt. The SEC tournament is at Bridgestone Arena (home of the Predators).

Oh well too bad. We might could fill Memorial. How many does Bridgestone Arena hold? That will tell you what I think about the NBA. I would rather watch paint dry.

One nice thing about Bridgestone Arena is that it's located by all the bars where Nashville country music stars regularly play. You never know who you might get to see playing at any time...

Sounds great, I just wish A&M could field a team that doesn't make these sort of trips a terrible waste of funds

Bridgestone holds a hair under 20,000 for basketball. As with most basketball related matters, how hard a ticket is to get depends on how many people UK can bring. I got walk up tickets easy this year since UK exited so early. A few years ago when UK made it to the finals, it was an impossible ticket.
In these upcoming years, the tournament will be able to utilize our new convention center that is just across the street on the south side. I'm sure they will try to use some of the festivities from the football championship in Atlanta. Broadway is not affected, so it will still provide the smell of Shame and Liquor that the "woo" women seem to enjoy.
It really is a good time to come down. It is early spring before it gets to hot, and every school basically adopts a different sports bar for all of their alumni/fans to treat as home base. There will be several thousand more hotel rooms in downtown by 2015, so prices should be reasonable, especially if you are willing to stay a few miles outside of downtown.
