I'm disappointed to say I went 2-0. I was really hoping Mizzou would take it. I only picked them because I thought they were more evenly matched.

Overall I think I'm 3-1 now.

MFer..... I wanted to pick Mizzou to lose soooo bad but had to pick the tide. Nothing against Mizzou, and I like USAFMEDIC. I just picked them to lose a lot of games in my pre-season survivor league picks and don't want to change them. Then what happens? Oh they're #5 in the nation and I look like an ass? Okay, I'll just insanely pick UT to beat Bama instead of picking a solid SC team to beat a really good Mizzou team.

Since the pool is getting smaller, can we twist the rules to say you can get a point (or points) if you pick "no upsets" for one or both of your picks, but if there is one (or more if you said none to both) you lose a point? Not trying to hijack, just don't know how many more weeks multiple undefeated teams will lose.

Nope. We keep picking upsets at a rate of 2 per week until there are 4 undefeated teams left. Then we will pick one each week. The one with the most correct wins. The misses really don't matter and the math still works out.

RE: Pick the Upsets Week #8 First Edition
These games are for the next two weeks but they are the next games for each of the remaining major unbeaten teams.

November 2nd: Miami at Florida State
(since both are unbeaten you may pick either team)
November 2nd: Ohio State at Purdue
November 2nd: Nevada at Fresno State
November 2nd: Northern Illinois at Massachusetts

November 7th: Oklahoma at Baylor
November 7th: Oregon at Stanford

November 9th: L.S.U. at Alabama
November 9th: Fresno State at Wyoming

We'll pick two knock offs of undefeated for this two week period. When we get down to 4 unbeatens we will only choose 1 per week until the end.
These picks are for weeks #10 & #11

For my picks I'll take the easy one of F.S.U. to knock Miami from the ranks of unbeaten teams and I'll take Stanford over Oregon.

Why does FSU count? Appears to be a cheap and easy bet. Why is that choice allowed?

I'm picking FSU and Nevada to win their games. FSU counts because they're playing an undefeated team in Miami...

Most of the realignment scenarios you put out have about as much validity. So what's the problem?

Does it only count when you spout off? 07-coffee3

When I talk about realignment scenarios, they are discussions about possibilities.

When you label a thread "Pick the Upsets" and then you try to claim that FSU beating Miami would be an upset, then yes there is a very big difference.

Nice try though. Feel free to go ahead with such a farce so that you can think yourself better at picking upsets because you picked FSU beating Miami, Bit. Congrats on having such great foresight.

All I said was that I'm out. Guess that makes you bitter and angry? 07-coffee3

In regards to my talk of possibilities. I got Maryland and was very adamant about it throughout the whole process.

Atleast I am not grabbing onto things like Luck being the possible AD at Texas and outright stating that it means realignment is over. Yeah, great one there genius.

He1nous, at the very beginning of the thread for the Clemson vs Florida State game we covered the fact that between unbeatens upset did not apply and you simply picked the winner. It was right there from the get go and you are free to take FSU if you would like, or not.

He isn't very keen on reading the whole thread...

As for my quote about realignment being over, it was made with tongue firmly planted in cheek. I know nobody wants to believe that. They'll believe whatever they want to believe, all evidence to the contrary not withstanding...

And as far as Maryland and Rutgers joining the B1G, you'd have to be an idiot not to foresee that coming. Penn State has been very vocal about wanting more eastern schools in the conference. It was either satisfy that demand, or lose Penn State to the ACC, where all their old rivals exist now...
