I am very happy we won......Yeah, it was great!!!! Everything that is said about this game has to be tempered with the fact that UTEP is one of the worst teams in the country.....put another way is, the loser of this game was almost guaranteed a spot in the ESPN bottom 10 list.....that should put this game in perspective!!!! I thought the defense played a good game, Jackson especially, but all of the linebackers played a hell of a game!!! I have to give props when props are do......Cody probably played his best game......he didn't lose it for us......but he tried, the 3 dying quail passes(2 for TD's) that he threw would have probably been intercepted by a decent team and the rest of his completions were of the 5 yard variety, some behind the line of scrimmage and some 5 yards down field.....it doesn't matter, he completed them, that's what counts. I have to give props to whoever was calling the plays on offense, overall it was much better, a couple of reverses at least and very short passing plays that are hard to screw up too bad. Now, if Tulsa thinks they can throw 16-17 passes and win games against better competition they are dreaming. I think the fans and Cody can bask in the glory of this win and I think they should but remember this is probably the worst team we will play the rest of the way(UTSA has a much better offense) and Tulane must be better than we thought. I would give the odds of us going to a bowl at about 5-1.

RE: Utep
Thats one of the best, most accurate posts I've seen about the present state of TU FB. Would we have beaten about anyone else in CUSA last night on the road - highly questionable.
Someone on rivals stated that our QB play is the worst he has ever seen at TU. I think it certainly rivals the K Burns days. But we have a little higher expectation level now and will be in a conference where there will be NO breaks given. We have graduated into the semi-Big leagues - the only question is can we now handle it?
