NIU is far from bullet proof. Yet 6 games in they are more of a complete team than Toledo and Ball State. Yet people are saying NIU has no chance. I don't understand it.

Ball State beat Kent by 3 at home. Archer had like 5 touches. Ball state is good but so is NIU. Don't understand the negativity. Last time I checked NIU hasn't lost in conference in over two calendar years.

Hey, congrats on a big win at Ohio. Now, to tear apart your post...

If it's a close game CMU wins it? That's a bold statement seeing as the Huskies are undefeated with a few close ones. If CMU limits turnovers they will win? Not turning the ball over is a huge first step, the other is stopping the Huskies offense. Don't count on them being "off" two weeks in a row. NIU has been exposed? What exactly has been exposed? The defense was a question coming into the season.

I wouldn't be so brash and say NIU won't get past Toledo or Ball State, because no one has gotten past the Huskies yet. No one though CMU would beat Ohio at home, but look what happened. Ball State just barely beat Kent State at home. Toledo will be tough, but nothing is showing that they are unbeatable.

I expect your Chips to bring their best against the Huskies. It's homecoming, they are hosting a Top 25 team, they are coming off a big away win, they will be fired up. I also expect the Huskies offense to do better than 1/15 on third down and score a lot more than 27 points. I think the last sentence of your post was spot on.

George Im not at all convinced anymore that Ball State is an automatic loss for NIU, I used to think that but I dont know anymore, now UT yes, thats a loss.

You mean the Toledo with inconsistent offensive play? The team that is so-so at best in every game so far?? Yes, thats for sure an automatic loss.

hoping huskies get a lame game outta their system and prepare with attidue JL expressed about bad taste in mouth...it aint gona be easy to win in MT P - a place long and widely known for ruff and sometimes dirty play...watch for cheap shots early...

BTW it would have been brutal to lose to UA -given the non call when JL was clrealy hit out of bounds late into the game...

Officials at ends of games have already jobbed WISC once in zona and most recently Iowa State vrs Texas .... Let's not put ourselves into such a position late vrs CMU....

RE: CMU predictions
When we're right, when we're playing well we can beat just about anybody. It's the coaches job to put our kids in the right situations to be playing their best. The whole season is coming down to the stretch and our coaches better have our kids in the right frame of mind and put them in the best situation to succeed. I'm happy with the job they have done so far but yesterday was unacceptable. Our offense has so many weapons we should not be hampered like that by an Akron defense. The CMU game will show us a lot about our coaching staff. Can they get the most out of our guys or will the rest of the conference's motivational advantages be too much to overcome this year?

I think that NIU will get the offense going next week and beat the chimps 41 to 20.

That presumes that the health of our banged up team improves.

Our O line needs to compensate for injuries to Lynch and umpteen skill players. If the line dominates we win, else we lose.

CMU will be a tough game, they have some talent, DTs are 300lbs. BTW a classic set up for gamblers, a double digit road underdog wins outright coming home, they cover 67% of the time.

1981 I think you are tending to exaggerate our injuries a little bit. We have some guy banged up but they are not the serious kind of injuries that will keep them out for several weeks more. It sounded to me like Sebastiano, Harris, and Santa probably all come back next week. I think we are actually doing pretty good right now on the injury front outside of Akeem and whatever Lynch is dealing with.
