It was quiet, church festival crowd.
Kind of what happens when you play the Temples of the world.
Agreed. I was just glad we had as many people as we did considering the day/time, the opponent and our own team's struggles.
With 10 minutes left to go in the 4th qtr., there was maybe 2k fans left in the stadium.

Yes, other than a couple players (like their LB who reminded me a bit of Shaeffer). The QB was someone they have never seen, so I'll give the first half defense a bit of a pass. They did much better in the 2nd, but the big gains off-tackle are still disconcerting.
Progress, though. I will take it. Yes. I hope they slay the penalties dragon pretty soon, though.
FINALLY figured out what we all knew...namely Green is the best option. I have posted this a couple times - hammer them with Green, tire their legs, then let RDA4 juke them. Green's physical runs will definitely help RDA4.
Lots more empty backfield sets. And they were effective. Quicker pace but not there yet.
Kay put in better positions to do what he does well. He looked like a point guard out there, calmly surveying his options, while staying mobile. Definitely more relaxed. Needs to stay healthy.
Better special teams play. Miliano needed that FG in the worst way. If it took that 44-yarder to bolster his confidence, then I really did not mind us not punching it in that time.
Still a ton of mental mistakes. Sloppy at times. Yep, tired of the penalties.
BTW...Nippert sounded like a morgue most of the night. Strange watching on TV. Although packed, seemed people were sitting on their hands waiting for something good to happen.
I think TT said it best during post game....they had no film on temple with new qb. It's very reminiscent of bengals against new qbs. But the defense did adjust and gave up no points after halftime, no?
Green has to be able to pass block. It sounds like that was one major issue with his playing time. I'm sure the staff has seen greens ability and potential, but they can't just put him out there is he doesn't block or has little injuries or doesn't practice well.
That said, green can be big asset. Hopefully he continues to learns and adjust to college rb spot. We need him that's for sure. Best running option it appears.
I agree crowd was a bit quiet. Maybe it was temple. Part of things seems its still a late arriving crowd too....maybe some fans can cut the tailgate a little early.
Rath and BJ....penalties need to be cut down. Ouch.
Kay looks like he is getting back to what we thought he would be this year.
It's a win...and got to just play these one at a time and see where they are in a month.

I hope Green works enough to supplant RDA4 as starter. My ideal scenario is for Green to bludgeon the defense, and RDA4 to juke them, once they are tired. Seems his best runs of the night followed Green being in there.
RDA IV had no good runs vs. Temple. Just look at his stats.
