You obviously don't understand what round-robin scheduling entails. Any chance you're an African-American Studies major at UNC? 03-lmfao

It's disappointing that the system rewards teams who don't play anyone and hopefully it changes with the new selection committee but Baylor's just doing the smart thing and playing the system the right way. If they are one of two undefeated teams, they will go to the national championship game regardless of their schedule. If they had played Oregon or Stanford or LSU out of conference and lost, they would not. It's an absurd system but it's what we have right now.

Look at those nonconference schedules again. Art has job security at Baylor. He'll never have another losing season there. He can stay as long as he wants, earning $2-3M a year, with very little pressure. He's the Bill Snyder of Baylor. Same type turnaround, same type scheduling philosophy.

Why would he want to trade that in for $4M a year at a job where he's got to lick a bunch of old white saggy bottoms, and god help him the first time he goes 7-5??

Baylor is saving guarantee fees at the expense of paying for a football stadium and running the rest of a non-public athletic program. If Wake Forest, Boston C, or any number of Big 10 schools had a schedule with similar difficulty, no one would question it.

I understand exactly what it is. AAC does that too, so does that mean their schedules are tougher? Of course not. Try again...

As much as I hate to agree with a Pitt fan, you hit the nail on the head here. The present system is setup to reward those teams that run the slate unbeaten, and Baylor is merely taking advantage of that. The new playoff system is supposed to reward more difficult schedules, if they stick to their guns. If that is the case, we'll see a lot of adjustment coming on several schools schedules. We've already seen that happen with teams that have changed conferences. Will we see more with the playoff? We shall see. It depends on whether or not teams will be penalized for having such weak OOC schedules...

WVU is eliminating body bag games in the future. The last one currently on our schedule is the 2015 game against Liberty, and I hope that game disappears in favor of somebody better. But starting in 2016 (BYU, Maryland, ECU), it's all FBS level schools...

What we need is at least an 8 team playoff. 07-coffee3

Let's see how the playoff works before we start talking about changing it. After all, if you push for change too fast, they could simply revert back to the old system, due to all the dissatisfaction with the playoff setup...

We'll know in due time as their final five games are against the best the Big XII has to offer.

Right now I'd bet a nickle they win the Big XII.

Had you bet earlier in the season, your nickle would have paid out much more when the odds were longer. Baylor is one of the favorites now...

A agree that their OOC schedules are an embarrassment, but I do believe they have a high powered offense this year. Getting the transfer, Seastrunk, from Oregon has really helped them this year. It will be quite an interesting Baylor-Oklahoma game.

Art very well could be the Texas coach next year. They certainly could do worse.

No kidding. He's averaging over 11 ypc. Imagine what kind of yardage he'd have if he averaged more than 15 carries per game. He hasn't played in the 2nd half of any game this season so far...

Well after watching the Kansas State game this team is beatable. Texas Tech did what it took to win but they looked beatable as well. We'll see.

Yes, they sure did.

But, scoreboard is what matters.

Stanford shot its load last week, for example.

Even Tom Osborne's last team, the 13-0 team that rolled Peyton Manning and Co., had such close calls as a 38-24 win over Daunte Culpepper and his 2nd year in D1 UCF squad...along with a 3-pointer over a 5-6 Colorado team, too.

It happens. Familiarity, emotional ups and downs...it would be easier if players were robots, no? Yeah.

If we stop ourselves on 1/3 of our drives... yeah. Defense needs some work but if we are anywhere close to playing a clean game on offense this game is over in the 3rd. Poor execution.

I wish Baylor had dropped passes against WVU like they did against K-State... 03-banghead

Ah well. I guess we'll have to settle for upsetting TT next Saturday...
