The tide is turning on the Dems. Obama's "maximum pain" strategy along with the absolute disaster of the Obamacare roll out is causing them to lose support. No surrender.

As the federal government shutdown continues without an end in sight, Democrats have lost their lead of the last two weeks and are again running even with Republicans on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey for the week ending Sunday, October 6, shows that 40% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Democrat in their district’s congressional race if the election were held today, while another 40% would choose the Republican instead.

This kind of thing highlights the whole failure up there.

It's good news for Republicans though; the Dem's political capital is all but spent, placing both sides at near an equal footing.

I live in a world where Wolf Blitzer of all people said that the health care roll out was going so badly that maybe Obama should give the GOP the one year delay.

I live in a world where the democratic mayor of DC held a rally *AGAINST* Harry Reid's blocking a GOP bill that would allow the city to spend its own money and then he crashed a Reid press conference*

I live in a world where the generic congressional poll has shifted in the direction of the GOP for the first time in some years.

It's you guys that have to tune out MSNBC and tune in the real world.

Looking past the utter irrelevance any of that has to do with anything, you also live in a world which the Rasmussen polls were shown to be the least accurate of the major polls, by a wide margin, and consistently in favor of republicans. That's not me arguing bias either, that is a quantitative statement of facts based on the history of their recent election predictions and the actual election results.

So I'll go ahead and trust the NBC/Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, and the Pew Research Polls, all of which show similar numbers and the same trend; Republicans are getting the brunt of the blame. But by all means, please feel free to learn nothing from the 2012 debacle and continue only trusting the polls that give you the answers you want, regardless of whether or not they're accurate.

Fun fact about 2012 Obama got fewer votes than he had in 08... The GOP base and libertarian components of the party stayed home..

Stupid party versus evil party. Democrats are evil enough to screw the families of dead soldiers as long as they can blame republicans. And republicans are stupid enough to let them get away with it. I have no use for either.

The shoes on the other foot now. Republicans had Obama over a barrel playing with the debt ceiling. He couldn't let the economy tank because he needed re elected. He was the responsible one. I think the R's are dumb enough to let the economy take a hit. I'm betting on it. The calculus has now changed. Hell Obama should demand tax raises now or he won't let it pass. The shoe is on the other foot and their too stupid to realize it.
