Gerard Johnson looks like more of a power runner than any of our other guys.
He was open all day for that little dump off pass. It wasn't until TH started throwing to him in the 4th qtr that we came to life. I really liked what I saw from Johnson.
It looked to me like the D line finally learned to stay put and they started shutting down their QB and running back.
Clark, their QB who transfered from ODU, is just plain terrible.

The read option is not new. It is almost the only running play we run. The straight option isn't new but hasn't been used much and I hope it goes away forever.

Our WRs couldn't catch a cold yesterday for some reason.

O K, got it. Whatever it is called, let's not see it anymore.
So the hand off to the running back is actually an option play? Maybe that explains why it seems so slow sometimes to develop. I noticed TH hanging on to the ball and kind of running for a few steps with the back. I've always thought to myself, damn his handoffs are slow, no wonder we don't have much of a running game. It takes to long for the runner to hit the line of scrimmage. I'm not sure I've ever seen TH pull the ball back out and run or pass. Probably just haven't noticed before. I'd much rather see a faster, cleaner hand off that hits the line faster.

+1, I only like the "read" for us at the goal line. Anything else is an unnecessary hit on TH.

Yes those are reads. Most of the time TH hands it off but he does pull it back and run on occasion, mainly near the goaline. They also have a pass option on the play that we've used a few times. It's a quick screen to the WR if the slot corner tries to come down to stop the run leaving 2 WR and 1 corner.
