Military Bowl - ACC
Birmingham - SEC
St Pete Bowl - ACC/CUSA
Armed Forces/Hawai'i - B12/MWC
Miami/Marlins - G5 at large
Boca/Bahamas - CUSA

Actually, they'd probably prefer out of town teams. The bowl exists to promote tourism to the area. The best case for FAU/Boca Raton would be for FAU to be good enough to get to a different bowl game and to get 2 teams who will each bring 10,000-15,000 visitors to stay in hotels and spend money for a week.

I REALLY hope this will accelerate the process and help FAU get naming rights for its stadium. We could certainly use the money and I would have to imagine that being able to pitch the exposure of a Bowl game to a company would get it done.

I hope they come up w/ a creative name instead of just the Boca Bowl or some corporate name

I was really hoping ECU would play FAU on the road this year so I'd have an excuse to visit the stadium and make a trip to my hometown (kids don't really like going south of Orlando, lol), but since that didn't work out, perhaps the Pirates will head that way for a bowl game some day.

Agree, they might like one of the fla teams, for seat sale, but would prefer some one from out of town on the other side. example FIU vs ECU, or FAu vs Memphis.

That's more like it; a Florida school (preferably from S. Fla) v. a team that travels well. If not a S. Fla school then U_F v. a Marshall, MTSU or Southern Miss.

I know Marshall brought a solid 10,000 to the BOB a few years back but you still need a Florida school to fill the seats on the other side.

You are right. That would be the ideal matchup.

Its official. There is really no anchor. Its more of a rotation of conferences (4 slots each). MAC will play vs the AAC in 2015 and 2019 per the MAC press release. CUSA vs MAC in 2014 and 2018. CUSA vs AAC in 2016 and 2017.

So how many spots are we locked into each year? Disappointing that we can't anchor a bowl in which a school in our fricken conference plays in its host site.

I think you will see both the Miami and Boca Bowls prefer at least one Florida team in them...which lets be honest, there will need to be some local representation for these bowls to really make it.

As much as some folks like to whine and moan about the Bowls, there is a clear choice...either you support them and make them work or they go away and you don't go Bowling.

I actually like the idea of only having 6 or so spots in some of these conferences...maybe we have less 6-6 teams going to Bowls, which would be a good thing.
