"we're on your side don't screw it up"

....

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid scolded D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Wednesday after Gray crashed a Senate press conference as part of his campaign against the federal government shutdown.

"I'm on your side," snapped Reid (D-Nev.), to the D.C. mayor. "Don't screw it up, OK. I'm on your side."

Gray is calling on city residents to join him in speaking out against the federal government shutdown. He appeared Wednesday morning alongside D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) at a rally outside the Capitol, steps from the site of another event headlined by Reid.

Bohner is about to cave. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory once again. I question what the end game truly is for these people, and who is really pulling the strings.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think he's about to cave?

+1

When national polls sink he sinks as well.

It's very obvious. Boner is already starting to cave. It's delightful.

Debt ceiling discussions. Suddenly everyone has toned down the rhetoric and is willing to talk.

National Polls have both parties with terrible approval ratings. But the GOP rating is hanging around 28 percent, which has to be positively frightening for GOP leaders who want to win the Senate back in 2014. They wont win anything back with that approval rating.

Since the Democrats still control essentially two thirds of the law making process with the Senate and President, it will be the GOP that has to cave first. Obama isn't the one facing re-election here.

When you have CNN anchors declaring "Obama should just do what the GOP asked and delay the mandate" the GOp is winning.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think he's about to cave?

Because he's an idiot and has done everything wrong since day one. This was not the right fight to pick. But now that you've picked it and gone this far, you can't cave.

I think his biggest problem is that he assumed from day one that Obama, Reid, and Pelosi were ethical people with whom he could deal honestly. They're not and he can't.

What he should have focused on from the start was seizing the moral high ground and making them come to him, instead of vice versa. Suppose on day 1 in 2011 the republican house had passed and sent to the senate,
HR1, adopting Bowles-Simpson or Domenici-Rivlin or some combination of the best of both, and
HR2, adopting French Bismarck health care, paid for by canceling redundant Medicaid, offsetting part of the cost of Medicare, and farming the means-tested and focused welfare programs to the states in exchange for lifting their Medicaid burden.

Would have been fun to watch Harry and Barry handle those hot potatoes.

Hell it's been funny watching the way they've handled this shutdown... Well not funny, but so pathetic I could laugh.

Par for the course for Dem-lite Boehner. Just needed a few more liberty wing members of the GOP to have forced Boehner's speakership to a full vote.

Nope. Probably 80% of Obama's constituency has no clue what is going on in Washington as long as the checks are still coming. Way too many low information voters on that team.

Example - Fallon's "man in the street" interviews where countless people said the ACA was better than Obamacare.

Politicians have been known to change their minds. How is it most of those Republicans only said this to mostly left wing echo chamber Rag publications?
