Jr Jeremiah Detmer was MAC West Special Teams Player of the Week for
the WMU game. It was the third time this season Jeremiah has garnered that honor.

Agree!!!

Detmer is definitely one of the best, but the Rockets have had a number of outstanding kickers over the years. Ridgeway, Steigerwald, France, Lee just to name a few. Ridgeway was also an outstanding punter. Hard for me to pick a best one.

J.D runs into a goal post and he has my vote.

He still holds the record for most in a row. J.D didn't miss his outside of 40 yards this season. Detmer has a year to prove himself as the best, but now he is still competing with those names for best at UT.

I can't remember another Rocket kicker kicking for so many touchbacks. This year it has become close to automatic, wind aside, for Jeremiah to put the ball deep into the end zone. Wonder what he did in the off season to increase the depth of his kickoffs.

Did they change the kickoff point a couple years ago? He had a lot of TBs last yearr but they are the norm this year. No Rocket kicker combined distance and accuracy like JD.

It moved 5 yards less on kickoffs, don't forget the holder and long snapper make a huge difference on FG and PA's. Still pissed we keep kicking 25 to 35 yd Fg cause we can't score TD's in the red zone. Even against WM who had one of the worst defenses I have seen in a while. So I predict JD will get many more this season
