unless you're used to getting in trouble with the police, i find it hard to believe that you could just forget about something like that
it's a traffic ticket. You're in college, you move, you don;t get notice of the court date, . . . It is easy for it to happen. I am sure it happens a lot.
I would argue that you know that you have an outstanding ticket that has gone past the date that the officer told you at the point of the ticket. I know, these are young kids, and they make mistakes. We are not talking DUI or a fight in a bar, but still, manage your life a little more. This is more about growing up and becoming a man, life lessons to be learned at this age. If you are making these mistakes when you are 30 there is a bigger problem. I feel a half game is enough, maybe none at all depending on the type of ticket. Parking tickets? I had 13 at NIU, I had to pay before I could get the diploma ha ha...
I don't know what county this occurred in. I assume DeKalb? I don't know what police department gave him the ticket or how they hand out court dates. If you do, then tell us. Otherwise, I have no idea whether Cam knew of his court date or not. To my knowledge, some places , MAIL YOU THE COURT DATE LATER. (Who knows to what prior address the court clerk mailed the court date.) I have no knowledge that he knew and willingly missed his court date. My common sense tells me I highly doubt he knowingly missed a court date. Anyone that assumes otherwise I think is jumping to conclusions without supporting facts.
Don't get me wrong. He messed up, but hardly much of a "crime." In fact, I am very surprised the police have manpower enough to be arresting people for this???? Shouldn't he just forfeit the bond for not showing up, be found guilty on the ticket, and that's it?
Suspension? I'll leave that to Coach Carey, whom I am sure knows a hell of a lot more about this than me at this point, and I am sure it will be appropriate.

RE: Stingily Arrested...
We still don't know Stingily won't play this game, or a part of it. If I were coach and I were to do anything, I would sit him for at most one quarter of the EMU game - if anything. Don't need to teach him much of a lesson. The law will do that job nicely.

I feel compelled to comment. I have had Cameron in class and have had a chance to get to know him. I will tell you that to the best of my knowledge, he is an upstanding young man with a good head on his shoulders. He is polite, courteous, respectful and respected among his teammates. I highly doubt that this incident is anything more than an honest mistake, that I am sure he will take responsibility for.
Let's put this thread to bed and give our guys the benefit of the doubt before assuming guilt or maliciousness.

Toledo players usually get arrested for felonies.

I remember Jim Bradley driving around in a nice shiny red Corvette.

@HuskieWire: Carey said Cameron Stingily will play this week. He said "all the corrective measures have been taken."

No suspension. It was well documented that he was playing peace maker in the fight and got punched. Eye injury.
