NIU running back Stingily arrested for failure to appear in court

Northern Illinois running back Cameron Stingily was arrested on campus Sunday afternoon.

Stingily had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense. On June 9, Stingily was charged with driving without a license.

damn...hope he can still play this week

Just saw this on facebook & was going to post it. I agree - hope he can play! Crap!

Let's hope he knew and turned himself in and this doesn't lead to anything.

happened Sunday and Coach Carey didnt mention it on the Coaches Conf Call today. (obviously he wouldnt unless asked) here's to hoping there is a decent reason behind it...

Carey will not let him play this week. He probably will be suspended indefinitely.

This does not seem like the kind of offense that will you keep you out long though.

if he gets suspended over something he could have EASILY taken care of in june thats horrible judgement on Cam's part. Not saying its not big deal, but its a little traffic offense, not something he needed to let go and ultimately get arrested and suspended over

unless you're used to getting in trouble with the police, i find it hard to believe that you could just forget about something like that

They may give him one game because we're playing Akron to prove a point, but that will be the max.

So we do not have an NIU alumni that can help him out. Suspend him for one game and move on.

+1 , one game is way more than enough for this.

a quarter or half is even enough. i mean didnt Manziel get a half for the autograph scandal? haha

Honestly, if it was me I'd probably give him a half. Like I said, because of the opponent I think they might give him a game. That'll be it. I would be fine if they don't suspend him at all.

Have him run some sprints at 5 am on Monday and Tuesday and that should be adequate. For heaven sake, it is a traffic offense. If Johnny Football got a half for his actions, this should be a quarter at most. We'll see what happens, but I hope it is just a innocent mistake that deserves a solid apology and some punishment at practice.
