ACCbbs Pick'em -- Week 7 (The Gauntlet II)
OK, combatants -- the slate for Week 7 is officially published. The only thing I'm waiting on is the point spreads from Sportsbooks.

Last week's slate looked like, and played like a final round of a Pinehurst U.S. Open.

This week's slate -- The Gauntlet II -- looks like the final round of an Olympic Club U.S. Open.

Good luck.

RE: ACCbbs Pick'em -- Week 7 (The Gauntlet II)
The point spreads are loaded... we're gonna have some fun picking games this week;

Point Spreads under 10:
Arizona (+6.5) at Southern Cal
Pitt (+9.5) at Virginia Tech
Missouri (+9.5) at Georgia
South Florida (+5) at UCONN
South Carolina (-6.5) at Arkansas
Navy (+2.5) at Duke
Syracuse (+6) at NC State
Florida (+7) at LSU
Rice (-3) at UT-San Antonio
Michigan (-3) at Penn State
Georgia Tech (+6) at BYU
Texas A&M (-6.5) at Ole Miss

That's 12 of the 21 games that are "close". In addition, the Maryland/UVA game is not on the board...

WWW://sportsched.com

I don't know GTS.

After looking it over, I like GT in that game. Granted BYU beat Texas but they also lost to UVA. How good is their run defense? GT will be the only wishbone type team they play all year. Any way, I hope y'all win.

Did MD lose their QB vs FSU? I'm trying to figure out why 33% of our pickers are picking UVA to beat MD.

That explains, then, why the game is off the board -- according to Sportsbook.

Virginia "might" have a chance...

UMD could put their LB back at QB like last year and still beat UVA.

My idea was to pick every other ACC school against maryland and my hope is for them to do extremely well in the B1G year one making everyone looks back and says wow look how good the ACC must be. So go wahoos!

RE: ACCbbs Pick'em -- Week 7 (The Gauntlet II)
NEW this week...

When viewing the "Make Your Picks" page, I've added a Pythagorean Adjusted (PA) win-loss record for each school that accounts for points scored and allowed, using an equation I discovered here:

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=337

If it can be of help while you attempt to dethrone the champ, great!

RE: ACCbbs Pick'em -- Week 7 (The Gauntlet II)
Some thoughts on this weeks picks.

Rutgers vs Louisville
96% of our so-called experts are picking Louisville over Rutgers.
Not a surprise but Rutgers is much better than 4% to win this game.

Missouri vs Georgia
100% of our so-called experts are picking Georgia over Missouri.
No one thinks undefeated Missouri will win. That's a small surprise

Oklahoma vs Texas
96% of our so-called experts are picking Oklahoma over Texas.
Looks like 1 Texas die hard picking Mack Brown to keep his job a little longer.

South Florida vs UConn
52% of our so-called experts are picking South Florida over UConn.
The toilet bowl. How did USF beat Cincy???

Virginia vs Maryland
79% of our so-called experts are picking Maryland over Virginia.
21% picking UVA. Still seems pretty high. I picked UVA for a 2-10 season before the Ball state game. But then I may be biased.

East Carolina vs Tulane
96% of our so-called experts are picking East Carolina over Tulane.
Who's the ECU hater? Come on Tulane over ECU?!?!? I don't see it.

Michigan vs Penn State
83% of our so-called experts are picking Michigan over Penn State.
Pretty highly in Michigans favor for a 3 point spread.

Georgia Tech vs BYU
58% of our so-called experts are picking Georgia Tech over BYU.
I really hope GT can pull this one off. 58% seems about right.

Whoever picked Texas is looking to pick up a pick on the field. I hope Missouri loses. Otherwise Missouri might pass VT and Georgia might not fall past us.

Man, did I feel dirty having to pull for the traitors Maryland in order for my picks to have any semblance of integrity this week.

Looks like the one I called an 'ECU hater' was a fricking genius. He picked up a point on everyone.
