Rocket Shop in Savage
Went over to the Rocket Shop in Savage before the homecoming game on Saturday.

Game at 3 -- big sign in Rocket Shop door saying they close at 2. People walking by trying to get in and spend money and they can't, even though there are employees and a few people inside.

Pretty poor form to not have that open until game time and capitalize on the heavy traffic coming from that part of campus.

Probably doesn't make people want to come back and spend their money when they can't get in on a busy day on campus.

RE: Rocket Shop in Savage
I have never been happy with the hours and lack of enough "free visitor" parking near the shop. On a couple occassions, I've gone over on a vacation day form work, cause that's the only real opportunity I have to visit other than game day, and both times all of the "visitor"/"ticket pick-up" parking spaces were full...on the first time, after driving around for about 15 minutes and not seeing any signs of movement for those vehicles, I just left. The more recent time, I ended up parking "illegally" in a space over by the Rec Center and walked over to make my purchase. So, yep, I agree that it's not been the most efficiently or effectively used way to generate income as it could be!

Hey guys be sure to let Mike O'Brien know. He wants to hear from the fans and will make changes when he can.

Will do. I'm guessing that students were parking in the "Vistitor"/"Ticket Pick-Up" parking spaces...gotta be careful with my criticsim of that because my daughter now attends...but I was also supposed to get a phone call when they received their new shipment of jerseys, as I wanted to purchase one during the Fan Day in August and they didn't have many left, none in my size, but were expecting more by the week of the Florida game. Left my name, phone # and requested color/size--still waiting for a return call. I know these are mostly student workers (maybe all are), so I'm not trying to be too critical, but there are ways in which that shop could become more user-friendly and generate more revenue as a result. On the plus side, even that minor expansion of space was nice.

RE: Rocket Shop in Savage
Went to the Rocket Shop sometime in the morning of the home opener, figured they would open at 9am, they weren't. Went back early in the afternoon, figured for sure they would be open by noon, fortunately they were open, but girl behind the counter stated they weren't scheduled to open until 3pm, she was called in early.

They may be students who work the counter, but there needs to be someone who is responsible for running the entire operation. No signs to say what time they are open. Very poorly run in my opinion.
