CALLAWAY VS MCGEE
Callaway won 4 games in his second year in a much harder conference and less scholarships. Last year's team was better than this years team. I hate to be negative but havent seen much improvement.

Callaway was given a hell of a lot more talent when he took over. Without Joe Webb .....

Man has a point. Any coach speak to dispute it?

RE: CALLAWAY VS MCGEE
I don't think last year's team was better, but I haven't seen enough difference this year to argue the point.
We've still got over half the season to go, and a change has been made to the staff, albeit a weird one.

True, I thought we had a real good chance to move forward with CUSA play.......I was waaaay wrong. Guess there is still hope, we'll see if this last move lights a fire.

I'm getting sick of this excuse. It's bull**** to the extent that it explains the current state of things. We don't have enough talent to not look like **** against FAU, Troy, Memphis?! If that's true and there's no OCS is sight, maybe it is time to pack it up.

Can we add Brown to the discussion while we are at it?

RE: CALLAWAY VS MCGEE
Let's just concede that McGee is trying his very best with a bunch of no talent hacks and call it a day. God, why would he have come here to begin with knowing what little talent we had? At least he's got the state of Alabama to recruit from and legion field to play in.

Callaway vs mcgee
No ocs or great facilities
No (good/great/decent) players
Other sports doing better then football
BOT's fault, bryant jr., finis fault
Compare us to (othe c-usa teams/ aac team/sec team/ highschool team)
Did I miss anything?

I'm sure he does considering he had to live through it, not just post about it from the stands.

Yeah, UAB fans are the worst in sport because our patience is thin after eight losing seasons.

Eight losing seasons, but only a year and half with a new coach...We didn't hire Saban, Malzahn, or a provenn HC. We hired a former assitant cherry HC.

He still has time to show something. Making a defensive change in the middle of the season is a step in the right direction. If that was directed from above then it should be a wake-up call to the head coach too. The time to start showing improvement is NOW.

And 2 wins over D-1 teams in that time frame. One of them is one of the worst teams in the country, and the other was a win over a decent team. So in a year and a half, McGee has one semi-good win.
Last year, we played USC tough for a half. We played OSU tough for a game. We fought hard against ECU and Tulsa. Then, we had ridiculous losses to Tulane and Memphis, and were handled by UCF.
This year, we seem to have picked up where we left off last year. We played one solid half against Troy, then lost. Then we were blown out by Vandy and LSU.(sandwich in that FBS win, woohoo!) Then, we lost to one of the worst teams in FBS. I expect a coach to have his team competitive in most games against similar opponents.
I expect our coach to be able to coach defense, or find somebody capable of doing so. I expect our coach, a QB guy, to be able to make things work with our QB(s). I expect our coach to make in game adjustments. If this is too much to ask, then I'm just a crappy fan. I hope McGee is doing something that we can't see that will help us in the long run, but I'm very skeptical at this point. I liked the hire from day 1(except that I have always felt he will bolt for the next job that comes his way) and I still haven't given up on him, it's just very painful to watch what is going on this year.

At the current pace, he will eventually be bolting alright.......just not by choice.
