And WVU has also faced their 3 toughest opponents in B12 play in their first 3 games. I doubt the Mountaineers will have any trouble making a bowl game. All we need is 3 more wins, and the toughest B12 programs have already been played...

Of the challenging games left, only TCU is on the road. We get Texas Tech, Texas, and ISU in Morgantown, and K-State, TCU, and Kansas on the road. IMO the toughest game left is TCU, simply because it's a road game. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Mountaineers beat Texas Tech when they come to Morgantown in 2 weeks, especially after the whipping they took yesterday. WVU's players will be mad, and ready to take it out on somebody. Tech just happens to be the ones coming in for it...

They have a good shot at bowl eligibility but that's the problem. We shouldn't be talking about them barely making a bowl. They've been to one 11 straight years. You guys should hire Schiano when Tampa cans him.

I'm not quite as optimistic about our future with Holgorsen as Bit but I would rather shoot myself in the balls before I hired Schiano. He lost to WVU every time they played and couldn't even manage to win a Big East title. That guy is the king of mediocrity

Before Schiano got to Rutgers, they had been to only ONE bowl in their history. He took them to SIX. That 's got to be worth something.

Had Rutgers fans given up on Schiano as quickly as you guys are judging Holgorsen, they would still be looking for their 2nd bowl bid. He didn't build a decent team overnight, and only won 8 games in his first 3 years. Rutgers didn't come close to making a bowl game until his 5th year, when they went 7-5...

He wasn't playing a B12 schedule either. If he had, he might still be looking for his first bowl bid, which would have saved Buccaneer fans a lot of grief...

So how long do you want to give Holgorsen before you throw in the towel? Rutgers was horrible so giving Schiano that long made sense. WV hasn't been horrible so there's a shorter leash.

I'm good with giving him next year to see what he can do. I would think anything less than 8 wins next year would be a disappointment. If we fired Dana after this season we would own Dana around 11 million dollars in buyout fees, not sure WVU can afford that unless he just completely tanks the rest of this season

RE: baylor 28 WVU 7, first quarter
I agree. Next year should give us a much better idea. Everyone knew that this was a rebuilding year for WVU's offense. We lost the entire offense (>90% of last year's offensive production is now in the NFL), and have a lot of play makers on the field who have never played with each other before. Inexperience is our greatest weakness right now, which is evident in the up and down play of the team.

As for the defense, I think our defense will look much better once a few more B12 teams take their beat downs at the hands of Baylor. Hell, Art Briles went 4-8 in first 2 seasons at Baylor, and only 10-3 with a Heisman Trophy winner at QB. It took him 6 years to build Baylor's offense into the juggernaut it has become. Their defense is pretty damn good too. Most of the offensive production against their defense in their first 4 games has come after they pulled their starters off the field...
