Ok. JMU as near Blacksburg right? Where does most of JMU students hale from in Virginia?

My personal opinion is the Big 5 in Virginia will soon be:

VA Tech
UVA
James Madison
ODU
VCU ( do they play football at all?)

Richmond and William ^ Mary remain excellent University but are not plays in athletics.

JMU is in Harrisonburg, about 2 hours north of Blacksburg.

VCU does not play football, and will not add it anytime in the next 10 years. They are quite happy in the A-10 and throw every possible $ at basketball.

yes, but they can't replace them with an eastern team. They would further unbalance the divisions.

Could do North/South divisions.

North: Charlotte, ODU, JMU, Marshall, WKU, MT, UAB
South: USM, La Tech, UNT, Rice, UTSA, FIU, FAU

That's assuming UTEP went to the MWC.

If CUSA went to 16 it would need to be adjusted, but it would still work.

The MAC won't take any more football-only schools. JMU would have to go all-in. The MAC is working on forcing the issue with UMass, as well.

I think JMU would fit pretty well in the MAC. They're not as far away as you might think.

I don't see why JMU would be opposed to joining the MAC for all sports. UMass I get with the A10 being a much better basketball conference, but JMU isn't really losing anything by moving all sports to the MAC.
