Alumni update: Former Bucs playing overseas
http://www.johnsoncitypress.com/article/...or-ex-bucs

This link above is to a great article from Joe Avento about the professional careers of several former ETSU alum'. At the end of the article, Adam offers wisdom, perspective, and gratitude for the college experience to current and future ETSU ballers.

I love hearing about these guys. Each one of them provided so many wonderful moments and memories.

In your opinion Buc, out of our former players who has had the best overseas career? Sneed? Wadood? Fields?

Jennings by a mile, not even close.

RE: Alumni update: Former Bucs playing overseas
Mister was before my time, but clearly he's the most successful Buc ever. I think I read that he was named one of the top players to ever play in the French league.

I'm not sure who's had the best career overseas of the recent ETSU players, but Sneed has had consistency over a relatively long period of time. I know Tiggs has had some great years overseas too.

Nice story on Mister's playing days in France. Apparently he's quite the legend over there:

Mr. Jennings played for Le Mans Sarthe in Pro A, the top tier French league, which has produced players including Tony Parker and Boris Diaw. He was league MVP in 1999.

I have a 6 pack of Coca Cola bottles with Calvin Talford's picture and bio on them from either Austria or Germany. He must have been a Ron Burgundy-like big deal there.

He should have been a huge deal at ETSU. He in part was responsible for those big crowds in the late eighties and early nineties. I wonder what would have happened if he stuck with baseball.

I enjoyed watching those highlights.

Mike's calling card has always been versatility.

Tubbs is having a great season with the Ottawa Skyhawks, averaging 16.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg:

Here's a Skyhawks promo video of Tubbs doing some of his trademark dunks.

Adam Sollazzo seems to be having a good season for Acmar Ravenna, averaging 19.5 points to lead the team in scoring, along with 5.5 rebounds.
http://basketball.eurobasket.com/team/It...venna/6524
http://basketball.eurobasket.com/player/...rID=163377

Here is some game by game info, showing him scoring 24 points on February 17, 2014; 17 points 7 rebounds on Februay 3, 2014 and 24 points 10 rebounds on January 27, 2014.

Ravenna is in the Silver Division of Lega Due, below the top level, Serie A. Adam is currently 6th in Silver Division in scoring.

I saw Tommy Hubbard the other night at the Dome, on crutches, torn achilles. Before that he had been playing somewhere overseas. He's obviously gonna be out for a while. Bad for him, wish him well.

Kevin Tiggs is currently playing for the Wollongong Hawks in Australia’s NBL – averaging 15.6 ppg. He is a teammate of former Arkansas and Butler shooting whiz Rotnei Clark
http://www.australiabasket.com/http://ba...Hawks/1114

Former competitor Alec Renfro of Belmont is averaging 13.3 ppg and 5.9 assists for Enisey in the VTB, the top Russian league, which includes teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus and Ukraine. http://basketball.eurobasket.com/player/...rsk/103594

Belmont’s Ian Clark of course, has made the big show, and rides the pine for the Utah Jazz.

Courtney Pigram is averaging 16.7 ppg for Ilysiakos Athens of the top Greek League

Playing abroad sounds like it might be fun for a young guy. But all these players jump around from team to team and country to country from one year to the next. It must be a really crazy business.

Didn't we beat Arkansas when Rotnei Clark played for them? That guy could shoot. If memory serves me, Tubbs had a monster game against the Razorbacks.

I noticed on etsubucs that they do releases for former soccer players when they sign professional contracts. One was just added today. Any reason we don't do that for our former basketball athletes?
