the number of required sports to be a D1 program. I know there are those who love Volleyball, Soccer, golf, and others, but if the schools that don't have a great income base could just concentrate on Men's and Women's basketball, and maybe baseball, schools like UALR would be able to compete better. Let's face it. It's all about money. And when you're forced to spend money on non revenue producing sports, it takes away from your main sports. If all sports programs were just optional and not required, as long as they complied with the fairness to women, we'd be in a better place financially.
