Who has the best traveling team in the ACC?
Who travels the best?

**To clarify, I mean an away game on the scale of BC to Clemson or FSU to Syracuse, Pitt to Miami, and so on.**

I'll hold off on voting because I don't feel like I've seen enough to know for sure but I would assume Clemson or Virginia Tech based on the games I've watched on tv.

RE: Who has the best traveling team in the ACC?
We usually have several thousand wherever we go, due mainly to our national brand and large contingent of traveling donors/hardcore fans. I haven't seen any teams in Sun Life bring more than we have brought to a team like BC or Duke.

RE: Who has the best traveling team in the ACC?
I would have guessed FSU or Clemson, but VT can also pack 'em and Miami has a MUCH more dispersed fan base (which is ideal for traveling), so I figured that I would put it to public vote.

Yeah. There's a lot of Miami support scattered all across the ACC's footprint, especially up in the New England area. Most (if not all) games we play are easy access for our fans, which is nice and it seems we always have a nice contingent (somewhere between 5-10k usually, I'd guess) of loud fans.

RE: Who has the best traveling team in the ACC?
In the old ACC, it was Clemson.
When Florida State entered the league their fans traveled very well for a while and then really tapered off as the 'noles started to lose.
The 4 North Carolina schools have always traveled very well with each other, but the distances are very short. This actually holds true if you add in the two Virginia schools too. From my house in Greensboro the longest trip to any of the 6 NC & Va. schools is a little over 3 hours to get to UVa (4 hours to get to Clemson).

I guess ND doesn't count since it is not a full member.

RE: Who has the best traveling team in the ACC?
This is not an easy question to answer. BC, for example, travels much better than you would expect to some locations. It has lots of grads in the mid-Atlantic area and has brought very good crowds to BC away games at Maryland and UVA. I have gone to both venues for BC games and BC brought about 5,000 fans to these games. I remember the UVA fans I spoke to were shocked at the large number of BC fans at the game we played in Charlottesville. BC has always traveled in solid numbers to SU as well.

Just got word that BC has sold out its allotment for the Clemson game in a few weeks. Further evidence that you cannot put any label on whether a school travels well or not. For most schools, it can vary by game and location.

Also, read on Eagle Action that BC sold out its allotment for the USC game.

I find it disgusting that we have to share a voting spot with mary-land.01-lauramac2

We need our own slot to vote for, becuase it feels like I'm voting for mary-land.03-puke

Buck up. It's only for another 1/2 year plus a few months and you'll be in the promised land.

RE: Who has the best traveling team in the ACC?
Probably VT and Clemson simply because they're located nearer to more member schools than FSU. But why would I vote for them?

Looking at the partisan voting, the question could have been "What school do you root for?"

Pitt really hasn't been in the league long enough for me to vote for other ACC schools. I will say that FSU brought quite a few to Pittsburgh.
