So who will get the USC job
Here's a list of names mentioned on the various ESPN CFB hows today (with my opinion of their likelihood of accepting the job if offered):

Jack Del Rio - would take it
Jeff Fisher - very unlikely
Steve Sarkisian - would take a cut to get the job
David Shaw - no way, NFL or he stays put
Chris Petersen - this might be the one that will get him to move
Pat Fitzgerald - I suspect he'd jump at the opportunity

What do you think?

Del Rio gets my vote. But he's not going to entertain any job offer until the Broncos season is over...

Why would Fitzgerald leave? He's royalty at Northwestern, where he went to school and grew up near. Granted USC would be able to offer far more money and resources for him, but the last few seasons have proved that he can do just fine in Evanston.

Maybe a chance to win a national championship which will never happen in Evanston.

Del Rio seems pretty blah to me.

RE: So who will get the USC job
I think you are right about Fitzgerald staying put. From everything I hear, he will coach Northwestern to the end of days unless the Chicago Bears come calling.

James Franklin and Al Golden are two coaches that could slide into the private culture of USC with no problem. Both coaches have to deal with begging fans to fill their stadiums, Golden has the insanely mismanaged NCAA sanctions going on, and James Franklin may want to get as far away from this player sex scandal as possible. Franklin really seems to like Nashville, but I hear his interviews a lot here in town, and he is clearly frustrated that Vandy plays second fiddle to the Vols in Nashville and that Vandy is not the only show in town. Vandy fans are as likely to catch a classical music concert or attend a fundraising ball on Saturday night as they are to watch Vandy against any team except UT. Of course, there are as many or more distractions in L.A., but the tradition and fan support is much better for USC.

USC really isn't a private school culture, though. It has more students and alums than most of the public schools in the Pac-12, a large busy campus like a public university, facilities like a public university ... it is not like Vandy or Miami or Stanford.

Sark has unfinished business at UW. You think Sark would take a paycut to go into the mess at USC? Also UCLA is becoming a monster so that USC job got even tougher.
