They're in the FCS top 25 now? Good for them.

Our schedule has ended up being much tougher than we all thought. JMU, Coastal, Gardner Webb and Charleston Southern. Great tests for our young guys.

Saw where you guys rolled them. Hope we have a smidgen of that success.

I'm not sure what to think of Gardner-Webb this season, but they are definitely better than they've been in recent years. They beat Furman, Richmond, and Wofford in fairly close games. Once again, not a game to overlook.

6th game of the year and I'm still not sure what kind of team we have. All I know is if we limit the turnovers we have a shot.

Their coach did reference that we run a hurry up style offense similar to Marshall.

Hopefully ours will give them problems as well. Would love to stay undefeated at home.

I don't know what your team has talent wise but they could barely pick up a first down on us. Probably one of the worst teams I have seen at the Joan in a long, long time. The fact that they are #25 in FCS is insanse.

What's the tailgating scene like at Charlotte? (As compared to other FBS programs.) I know some of you Charlotte fans have to have gone and tailgated at ACC schools, maybe ECU, etc. Just looking for comparison.

I think the tailgating scene at Charlotte has exceeded my expectations. I think it's like most places if you have a parking pass or know someone with a good spot you will have a good time. There are limited options for visitors and non-seat license attendees but manageable (green space near parking decks). There's a festive atmosphere on both sides of the stadium and a great area for university sponsored activities nearby. Traffic has been a non issue for me. I like the proximity of the stadium among academic buildings and short walk to student union. From what I can tell there's still room for growth in the surface lots for more tailgaters. The culture will sure to evolve over the years with more seats and the upcoming light rail gets up and running just outside the stadium.

I lived in Charlotte from '07-'10 and the Light Rail to Charlotte's campus was being discussed as something way in the future. Any concrete plans or timetable for it? That would be just AWESOME for the university and would really connect the university with the city.

I liked riding the light rail. I had season tickets to the Bobcats and took it every game.

Construction on blue line extension is underway. Light rail to campus will begin operation in 2017 so they say.

They've already done demolition for the W. J. Clay intersection park-n-ride.

And have assembled quite the stack of building materials at this location.

I can't find the link now but I read recently that Ikea to UNC Charlotte will be the first section built, then uptown to NoDa, and finally NoDa to Ikea. If I find it I will post.

That's awesome news! Charlotte is such an awesome city, and the University area always felt separate. Glad that is changing.

That makes sense, since they need security guards to protect the construction workers on that last stretch. 04-jawdrop
