New Future Opponents?
Didn't see anyone mention this but on the pregame radio show Saturday, the new AD Frazier discussed the '13 Northwestern game. He also said to expect some new future opponents to be named in the "next week or two". He said something the effect that they are done deals, but just have to work on the details in the contract or something like that.

Of course, the Illini or more games vs NW would be great. I'd love to bring on Illinois State, that would be a fun matchup and I'm sure they'd have a good crowd as well.

I will predict ND/NIU @ SF in 2015 and then NIU playing @ Camp Randall in 2016, 2019, 2021, 2024, and 2030.

I believe also they were close to scheduling more games with Iowa earlier this year and those games had yet to be finalized. I wonder if the official announcement on those is what he is referring to.

With the big conferences playing more in conference games, may have a better chance at getting an ND game than we would have had before.

I'd also say, our reputation has got to the point that, it's not as much of a trap game. You might lose, but you don't get looked down on like you once would have.

RE: New Future Opponents?
It sounds like he wants more regional matchups and wants to get quality opponents at home. We shall see.

Also, reading between the lines, it sounds like he's trying to get out of the Wake Forest game and get us a 6th home game for next year.

I heard a rumor that we are replacing Wake with UNLV @ UNLV, which would be awesome.

Doesn't the Wake Forest game go back like 10 years? I would almost like to play them just to get the game out of the way.

Very interesting. Wisconsin played UNLV several times, so it makes sense with Frazier's ties. A home and home obviously would be necessary.

It'd be awesome if they're also going to come here.. otherwise I'd pass on having the team travel cross country for a mediocre game. That really only rewards the fans, not the players.

Especially if they're going to cancel going to Wake for it.

Looking at UNLV's OOC schedule, it certainly fits. And while I'm dreaming about a trip to Vegas, I'll also add that a Friday night game out there also wouldn't surprise me with the MWC having pretty regular Friday night games on ESPN/national TV these days.

I heard Jiff signed secret contracts to send NIU to the Kibbie Dome for 2014, 2015 and 2017, and was in the middle of applying signature to paper for 2018 when he left for ECU, so Frazier understandably has his work cut out for him.

RE: New Future Opponents?
The way I hear it, Frazier walked into the AD's office his first day, and found stacks of contracts with Idaho in the file drawer, a closetful of Vandal memorabilia and a Kibbie Dome frequent AD visitor punch card sitting on the desk with 2 holes punched in it. It's gonna take time.

RE: New Future Opponents?
UNLV isn't really an exciting opponent, but it would be cool go to Vegas for an away game. As long as it's a home and away contract, this is a 'could be worse, could be better' contract.
