Mississippi Honor Flight Veterans storm closed WWII Memorial
The park police barricaded the WWII memorial ... because a bunch of stone really needs personal supervision, amirite?

The Mississippi Honor Flight arrived in DC this morning. They went to the memorial. It was closed because LOL shutdown and we hate common sense.

If you stormed the beaches of Normandy a damn park barrier won't keep you out. And it didn't.

Word is park police are on their way ... and Congress Critters are flocking to the memorial.

Evidently I started a thread at the same time about this. Wish my father who was at Omaha Beach could have been there.

Official word from Park Police on the WWII memorial: "We're seeking guidance on how to respond." No effort to block any vets. #shutdown

Clearly this administration is not about reason or citizens at all.

This kind of showmanship ought to be the lead in every news medium out there. But they're busy peddling nonsense.

more right wing fanatics.

Just like all those grandma and grandpa tea partiers having the nerve to wave their American flags, sing the National Anthem, oh, and clean up after themselves before they leave.

“I’m not going to enforce the no stopping or standing sign for a group of 90 World War II veterans,” said the officer, who declined to give his name. “I’m a veteran myself. ”

"Veterans piled off the buses in wheelchairs and with canes, and a shout went up when the barricades blocking the entrance to the memorial were suddenly moved and the men surged down into the memorial."

Irony:

Shutdown means no jobs report

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says on its Web site that it will not collect or disseminate any data as long as a shutdown is in effect.

That means the monthly jobs report, which is due Friday, would not be released.

Here’s what the BLS says on its Web site:

“During the shutdown period BLS will not collect data, issue reports, or respond to public inquiries. Updates to the site will start again when the Federal government resumes operations. Revised schedules will be issued as they become available.”

Did they cross the "red" line? Don't want Obama to get confused and call in an airstrike.

Obama has issued directives to make everything as visible and painful as he possibly can in much the same way that the kid in the park gets mad when he doesn't get his way and takes the only ball and goes home. After he does this - all his buddies hold him in high esteem for his actions. If the general populace in this country had a clue - they'd view Obama the same way as the other kids in the park. Alas, most of them won't know what is REALLY going on with our federal government - but they'll know that Justin Bieber's bodyguards carried him up to the Great Wall in China

What is shocking.... is you right wing nut jobs don't get to pick and choose what stays open. If D's pulled this stunt and just opened things that they wanted covered you would be upset too.
