RIP James Street Undefeated as Texas QB
His 4th down pass to Randy Peschel for 44 yards stunned everyone including Arkansas, led to the game winning touchdown. Street also led the Longhorns to the national championship game and a win over Notre Dame. That team and his running the Wishbone offense is what first made me decide I would be a longhorn for life.

Yep I sure remember him, what leadership skills he displayed and his son Houston was a terrific closing relief pitcher.

RIP. There is a great book out there about the Texas-Arkansas 1969 game that I read a few years ago where Street was prominently featured. The book managed to loop in Nixon, the Vietnam War protests, a young Bill Clinton, etc.

I miss the rivalry with Arkansas. Some of the best games I've seen played were between Texas and Arkansas
