Louisiana vs Texas State Predictions
Alright let's hear them. The Ragin Cajuns I believe have had 2 weeks off, is that right? It's a home game for them with a big home crowd. Can my Bobcats win their first bout or are we just not ready to take the Sun Belt Conference by storm? I didn't see this as an easy game at the beginning of the season and still don't. Really respect what Coach Hud is doing over there and can only hope we walk out of Lafayette with a W

Texas St vs Louisiana
I've been looking forward to this game since we announced we were headed to the Sun Belt. Really wish I could make it but I've got too much going on with work and grad school. Really hoping to build a rivalry with the Cajuns.

Should be a fun and close game. Hopefully Texas States defense continues to play well against the run and secondary keeps WRs locked down. We've seen a lot of strong, high-powered, fast attacking offenses so far.

The offense improved with Jones behind the center. If our offense does what it did against Wyoming, it could be a high scoring game.

Extra preparation time for a good coach and team...plus one of the more difficult places to get a conference road win...

RE: Louisiana vs Texas State Predictions
cajuns - 31
bobcats - 27

bobcats throw a hail mary caught in the back of the end zone as time expires. refs rule foot out of bounds.

no replay is looked at like it's 1976.

cajuns run off field in celebration.

RE: Texas State @ Louisiana
I gotta be honest, to start the season, I had this as an automatic L.

After seeing Jones play, I'm feeling optimistic, and I can see it as a close good game. I am HOPING home field advantage doesn't play a part.

The bonus for us is that it rained like crazy this weekend, so practices this week should be hot and humid. That will help reduce SOME of the effect of playing in Louisiana.

If I was betting per the line (-10 at first glance), I'd take the bobcats and the points. Straight up? I'd be worried.

I am HOPING (Man, and I used to be the biggest pessimist) for a great game either way.

I'm standing by my preseason prediction that the Cajuns win. I think it will closer then I thought a few weeks ago, but UL is strong at home (one loss under current coach). Not worried about the crowd intimidating our guys, Texas Tech was their largest crowd ever and we got them to quiet down. I think the two week prep gives UL the edge.

I see alot of wishful thinking from the Troy contingent. This is a home game and the conference opener. With or without a extra week, we have no intention of losing. I will be a big TX St fan starting Sunday though.

RE: Texas State @ Louisiana
Man I have looked everything over and I can't predict the score of this game, all I can say is I really think we barely get the W. This will be a good test for the Bobcat's Defense, Focus and Mental Toughness because the Cajuns can compete running the ball and by passing over the top. Our Defense is solid, I mean very, very solid so giving Cajuns any more than 31 is basically saying their offense is way better than Tech and Wyoming which I doubt it, skilled players or not. They are very well coached and don't take too many penalties, but the defense is suspect and I think we now have the ability to drop some points. I'm not going to get a big head, I said we would win conference in 2014, but Tyler Jones coming in just upped the possibilites. Lets hope he can continue to improve with no turnovers and that our Defense just goes in there and does work like they have been doing.

According to astrocajun, two fans in this thread equal a contingent and a lot of wishful thinking. 01-wingedeagle

Maybe there's some in some other threads with a hardon against Louisiana, who cares? It would be wishful thinking if the teams weren't close in talent. There is no agenda here, Texas State appears to be the better team. They curb stomped a pretty good MWC team (Phil Steele had them projected 3rd, in a much better conference than the SBC), while Louisiana struggled with Akron most of the game? Texas State has clearly outperformed Louisiana to this point. That's not wishful thinking. There is no agenda. Whether they are better, or whether they win, who knows. They could choke in conference.

So I noticed that the TXST Alumni Association tailgate is right by the stadium this week...Is that something ya'll do for every visiting school or are we special? Either way its much better than Texas Tech putting us somewhere near the New Mexico border...and then charging $5 to catch a bus to the stadium.
