Rank the Sun Belt's defenses through 10/01
Please don't take this as a self serving thread to have everyone come talk about how great the Bobcat defense is.

It is actually spawned by my curiosity of how good the Sun Belt is on defense this year. I know there are some potent offenses, but don't often hear much about defense, so I figure what better way to ask than those that know.

And yet you still chose to ask us. 04-cheers

I have no idea. I cannot really judge Arkansas State yet. We played two SEC opponents on the road, the best QB and possibly offense in the SBC, a weak SWAC team and we had a total collapse on the road against a team we should be able to contain. Only thing I can say is that I expect ours to get better and better as the season progresses like they did the last two years.

I have no idea about WKU's defense, we looked great vs the option...I think it helped we started in the spring preparing for it...I still fear our defense will have trouble vs spread SB teams and mobile Qb's....

I watched a lot of that game and you guys played the option very well, especially after their first QB went down. We don't face you until the last game so there is not telling what physical and mental shape the teams will be in at that point.

Side note, I hope the NCAA does something to ban the chrome helmets. Memphis had them when we played and they are annoying.

It's early, but Texas State has performed the best on defense I think. After that, I think it would be UL, USA, and WKU in no particular order. WKU had 7 turnovers in the UT game so you can't pin the 52 points on the D. They also did well against Navy's triple-o.

Just go ahead and insert ASU at the bottom of your defensive rankings, and you'll have at least one right.

If our Def was forcing more turnovers like last year I would feel better about it. Dowling was an interception machine last season. Our LB's are playing lights out right now though.

Great, the teams responsible for the last 8 SBC Titles are fighting over who has the worst defense.

Don't worry, it's acceptable for the OP to brag.
